O yea, nice zinger there

Strangest thing just happened. I went to the store and got everything as usual. Normal activity, plenty of TP but I don't need any yet.

We made the rounds to a few stores this morning.

usual stop at the local Taco shop.. you can walk in. All chairs are stacked up in the rear of the sitting area.  All the tables are lined up blocking the booths. Take out only. Or the Door Dash , Uber delivery stuff. Good breakfast burritos there. Actually all the food we have eaten there has been very good.

No toilet paper or paper towels  found this morning. Kleenex was found. Frys Food store, Dollar store, Walmart were visited.  At 11am Walmart Fresh meat counter was virtually empty. There was some sausages, about 12 packs of premade hamburger patties. Eggs were there.  Dairy was about 1/2 empty all the stores we visited

My buddy with the Studebaker Champ truck calls me about 11am.. He is at Walmart on west side of Phoenix. They have RV toilet paper, he asks me if I want any.  LOL Yes! Buy it, I will pay you when we meet up.  His 96 yr old mother lives in a care facility in Mesa AZ.. about 10 miles from my house.  I will see him sunday.  He buys supplies for his mother and takes stuff to her every 2 weeks.

A good friend in WisconSin... 10 days ago , he had no problem with food supplies or toilet paper.  I told him to buy enough for 30 days at least.. He ignored me, said small towns must not be affected much. Now he says:  Dang it , i should have listened to you.    Actually he used a few F bombs in his comments.    His wife is a school teacher.. He owns a Auto repair shop.  Says his phone just stopped ringing in early February  which is a slow for them in that ice cube of a state anyway.

Michigan goes into stay at home mode at midnight tonight. My county got its first confirmed case today. Still working in the shop. I doubt I will run out of work or supplies for quite awhile. Essential medications are on hand along with appropriate health drugs.

To repeat what Crosley said, this isn't going to end soon. From yesterday to this morning cases increased by almost 10,000 and for the first time over 100 died in one day. Hospitals in multiple cities and states are starting to discharge patients they'd normally keep to make bed space above. A big chunk of the ventilators in Louisiana are already occupied, and these are patients who take some time to get off them.

Here is a recent graph of the case count to date. It speaks for itself. If here's a light at the end of the tunnel it's a train.  https://twitter.com/kathrynw5/status/1242570433796419588/photo/1

Please be safe, everyone. Go the store only when you have to and stay away from people otherwise. The hoarding fever will break soon.

I'm still going to work every morning, but I have a "Critical Infrastructure Worker" card because the state could lock down any time. We haven't been anywhere else except to the store for 2 weeks, and not every couple of days like usual.

We're going to get through this, but it isn't going to be fun.

My brother called... the Walmart store near him had TP & paper towels on the shelves for a while this afternoon.  He grabbed some of each.

My buddy in WisconSin sent me a text... His store there had paper products in stock again.

I will need to make a grocery run thursday or friday..  for some basics ; bread, meat, paper, produce.

We have some hotels in the area. 2 - 3 miles away.. I rode past them today and paid attention to the parking lots.  1 - 3 cars in the parking lots was all there was.

Guys, please take this virus seriously!

In the past 10 days, deaths in NJ went from 9 to 355.

In the past 11 days, deaths in NY went from 46 to 1941.

People in sparsely populated areas have less risk, but if you're in or close to a large city, you're at greater risk.

I had to finally go to the grocery store this morning...geezer hours 7 to 8AM. Paper products still in short supply, not a spray bottle of disinfectant or a box of wipes in sight...huge store. Lots of empty spots...cake mix, 2 cans of turkey spam in a space that is usually 5 shelves high and 4 feet wide with types of spam I didn't know existed....and now it doesn't. I wore a dirt bike red bandana as my mask. We're good for two to three weeks.

Looks like I mag run out of MIG gas this weekend so I'll have to break ranks on Monday. MIG gas is necessary tomaintain my mental health dontcha know.

Michigan is right up there near the top of the infected list with majority in the metro Detroit area. It's here in western Michigan with 3 deaths in our county. We are taking it serious and keeping in touch by phone I'm glad we both have hobbys to keep us from going starkers.

One of my friends in the Kansas City area called this afternoon. He asked questions about tire sizes but we did talk about the current situation.  He is a wood worker. He mentioned that if he didn't have a garage to work in that his happiness would be in jeopardy. He said he wouldn't feel safe until there is a vaccine created.

Went to Menards today to get some shop supplies and thought I would pick up a pack of toilet paper.
They had a few packs with a hand written sign for $25.00, OUTRAGEOUS.
I believe that's price gouging.  I did not buy.
I'm sure I spend will over $1000.00 a year at this place.
I will now use the other box stores in town as much as possible.

Arizona governor placed a "stay at home" order in place. With essential businesses remain open. It is kinda weak order. I dont see any changes.

I still have to travel to 3 different grocery stores to buy basic food for the house.  Kinda difficult to avoid groups of people with empty shelves in stores.

A friend on the west side of town.. spent over 30 minutes in line at a Costco to just get in the door.  All she bought was toilet paper. And she said that was about gone when she got to the TP.

Maybe I will wear my motorcycle riding gear into the stores now?  Hope a TV news reporter sees me?

Our Menards has their house brand TP in stock. Price is around $4 for 12 rolls. I didn't see any special signs but many brands were out of stock.
