Our son was supposed to have triple or possibly quadruple bypass surgery done on April 6. They called him yesterday and his surgery has now been classified as elective surgery and has not been given a date. His surgery would require a four day hospital stay. It's better that he'd stay home and take it easy than it'd be for him to be stuck in the hospital with what might might be coming. GPster

Hopefully that will work out for him, that is seriously scarey. My sister was diagnosed with cancer in January, had surgery, which went well, but now has to get chemo. She has to go to a local hospital for it that has had at least one Covid 19 death. She can't have anyone go in with her. I feel so bad for her, but it needs to be done, even she if it has to be at the worse place possible.😕

I went out to get some things yesterday. The last place I stopped the clerk carried my stuff out. I opened the trunk so he could put the box in, and he yelled " Hey everybody, he has toilet paper!".

I just happen to stop at a local Frys Food Store at 6:45am. Not thinking about anything special.

At the door a good sized young fellow asks me if I am 60 yrs old or higher. I say: thanks for asking,, I am 66..  Gal behind me with a 11- 12 yr old son was stopped. She took it mostly well.  It was senior only hour on thursday. Lot of old people in the store.

Any way:  I found toilet paper at the store. Bought a few more items we needed. Most products were on the shelves cept for disinfectants.

Folks I talk to  (at a distance) are getting PO'd about the lack of basic food groups and paper products in stores.  I am tired of news that more toilet paper  product is being produced.. then news of the manufacturers are at production limits . Which is it?  Folks are tired of limit of 1 item only for certain products.

A couple of friends buy products for elderly parents and are refusing to make multiple trips to the store because of limits on items.

Some city officials are closing down more parks , hiking trails or at least talking about it...  Citizens are pushing back.

Walmart near my house was completely sold out of Adult size bicycles.  The racks were empty.  Maybe people are getting more exercise?

A good friend went to Walmart yesterday.  ....He was not allowed into the store because he was not wearing a mask.

He explained that was what he was going in to buy.   ....He was then told "we don't have any."  ...No entry allowed.

I have a Tyvek hood, a canvas sand-blasting hood, 2 face shields for grinding, & half-face respirators for organic vapors.   ....I am allowing my wife to pick my attire for our next shopping trip.

I'm going to add this just in case somebody is unaware: The 3M paint mask that has dual respirator cartridges carries a P95 rating. In researching, that is the same raring as N95. The outer fabric is replaceable. I have 3 layers of blue shop towels over mine as the disposable part. People have a tendency to laugh when they see me. It's not hurting my feelings. :)

Went to Aldi's Thursday during senior hour and there were three young women in there with their kids (no gloves or masks), all in a group, dancing and singing in the aisles like they were daring someone to say something. The rule is one person, 6 foot rule, and no kids. Their kids were pulling stuff off the shelves. The guy stocking shelves said it was his first day and he didn't know how to handle it.

Everyone else was very patient and courteous. They had toilet paper for $.50/roll, limit 2. I thought that was fair.

My daughters thermostat crapped out Thursday and we are still at or below freezing at night here. Menards opens at 6 a.m., I was the first and only customer in the store Friday morning, grabbed a stat, and some cat food for Mr. Biscuit and was back in my house at 6:17...and her heat is back on....😃

I went to Stock & Field (like TSC) today to get two new tires for a cart, and I was the only one besides one woman in the store with a mask on. They do have bleach/water spray bottles and paper towels for the shopping carts.

We stopped at Texas RoadHouse to pick up our Easter order of two 16oz ribeyes, two 8oz sirloins, four baking potatoes, a dozen rolls, Caesar salad and two slices of cheesecake for $70. Even had the parking lot slots numbered, and they would park you at every other slot while you waited for your food. All the food is uncooked. Good deal.

2 weeks ago , when my wife still could drive.  She stopped at an Olive Garden place. They have the parking lot set up with numbered signs in parking spaces..  You can call in an order. Arrive, park.. call them with number space. Server Come out, receive payment, bring food out. You can park first and order the food and wait...

We ordered from Dennys this morning.  My wife loves the pancakes.  We split a Grand Slam breakfast.  Her appetite is still light after the surgery.  Ordered the food online, drove over and picked it up..  Till last week that Dennys was not open at all.

The last time I ate out was March 5. The choices in my town are are somewhat limited so it's usually when I'm out of town that I indulge. That was the last time I left town, also. :) All the larger communities around me are infected.

Stopped at a local WinCo food store monday.  They had about 45 packs of toilet paper on the shelves. No paper towels.  Kleenex tissues were there too.

Cleaners - disinfectants = gone.  All of it. Liquids , wipes, all gone.

I would guess about 50% of the ppl in the store wore the masks of some design. Not all Store employees had mask.

thru the grapevine: I heard my former employer Hughes Performance now requires employees to wear mask at work.

We got our government stimulus checks yesterday.  Somehow being stimulated today is different than what I remembered from my youth. :D

AZ residents are split like most of the USA..  Some want more restrictions , others want restrictions lifted..

Week ago I read that Banner Health in Arizona was sending some Ventilator trained nurses to Colorado.   A friend in TX , his dad's companion tells me the nurses that went to Colorado were not needed as Colorado staff had been reduced where the Arizona  nurses arrived.

So:  which is it? We need more or less restrictions on people ?

On the flip side: the Navajo Nation up in north east AZ has been hit very hard by the covid 19 virus
