Charlie Chops 1940

Michigan has been placed on masks in all places of business starting a few days ago. Early the other day over near the state capital a masked customer in a convenience store challenged a guy who came in without a mask and got stabbed for his trouble. A local sherrifs deputy got called and pursued the stabber and pulled him over. He got out of his vehicle with knifes and started advancing on the deputy, who repeatedly told him to drop the weapons. The deputy (a 22 year veteran) kept backing up and the guy lunged at her and she shot him 4 or 5 times before he stayed down. He died in surgery.

Probably not a good idea to confront anyone these days since about half the population is * .

We picked up subs for supper and went out to Lake Michigan tonight with a couple stops and everyone was wearing masks.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

I've heard of numerous incidents where employees have been hurt for trying to enforce these executive orders..  A nutcase pulled a knife on a Meijers clerk near here over a mask disagreement. It shouldn't be the employee's responsibility to enforce this stuff.

My doctor retired in late 2019...  In to 2020 I was changing doctor for my medicare coverage.  I have never been to the new doctor. My meds are coming due for renew.  I guess I should  address this next week.. see how unsmooth that goes.

A friend of mine called his doctor in May for a yearly physical and was told they are not doing them at this time.  They offered a computer  tele exam to him.  He asked how they were gonna do a prostate exam over the computer.  His heart doctor did an in office check up on his heart.  Temperature checks, sit in the car till the office call you as you guys mention. Some type of Mask or face shield is required.

George you are correct.  This virus and mask  situation has turned common store employees into police.  The sad results are played out every day when people act nutz.

I wear a face covering around my neck.. when I enter a store I put it in place. As soon as I walk outdoors , the covering is removed.

A hot rod buddy, that I had a lot of contact in the past, died from the virus today.  He was a very interesting man and he was good to me.  Although he lived within 5 miles of me, we had not seen much of each other lately.  His passion was model car kits.  He had over 7,000 unbuilt models.

Another close friend is sick with the virus but not in the hospital.

Do not let your guard down.  The virus is real, and you can end up a statistic.

Wow, Wz Junk, so very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Sadly a lot of us will know someone in that way before this is done.

Sorry to hear that John.

My wife and I are in self quarantine.  In the summer we take care of our grandsons and the 7 year is in athletic camps.  His coach tested positive on Monday and since we had him that afternoon and the weeks before we elected to stay in.  He was tested a couple of days ago, but it will take 5-7 days to get the results.  His coaches were all masked during the entire camp, and it is outdoors, so not too many worries, but stay safe just the same.  And obviously the self quarantine is to protect others, not us.  Grandsons are both staying at home and their mom is working from home.  Their dad is a truck mechanic for the state in a large open shop and he was required to come to work.  Interesting how each location handles things.

My son also works for the state and he is absolutely not allowed in the office, MUST work from home.  My daughter has a choice, home or at the office.  Three kids work for the state and all have different rules in the same town.

Sorry to read about your hotrodding buddy John..

Here in Arizona the numbers are better for new virus cases and people going in to the hospitals.  We have lawsuits against the state  flying around by gym owners that want to reopen.   Schools trying to come up with guidelines for kids to attend school.

At my part time job , there are a few guys that will not wear mask or face covering as the company is asking.  One fellow likes to make snide comments to me about living my life  "afraid" ... Being a Pro active guy, I will talk to the owner today.  I may load up my tools in to my truck for a ride home.

Was at a car dealership waiting room yesterday.  ...My wife & I were alone so we removed our face covers.

Other people came in and sat 10' away from us and each other.  ...They kept their masks on the entire time.

One lady's cloth mask was so restrictive, you would see it "suck in" when she inhaled and it would balloon out when she exhaled. ...This is not healthy, as it leads to recirculation and re-breathing excess CO2. ...Hypercapnia can result.

When we were called to pay, we put on our face coverings, completed the transaction and left.

Why do people feel the need to wear a mask if they are not close to anyone?  ....Isn't the rule 6' social distancing OR a face covering?

Still see people walking alone outside wearing a mask.  ...Also some "maskholes" driving alone with masks on.

Statistics are still manipulated to justify an agenda, and in many instances are not reflective of the actual situation.  ...Some virus tracking websites are so inaccurate, they can no longer be trusted or believed.

YES, the virus is real - no denying that.  ....The hype, fear, economic hardship, tensions, restrictions, and other conditions it has manifested has not been beneficial to society.

So far, EVERY package of masks that we have seen for sale in stores have been made in China.  ....Almost all are marked, "NOT FOR MEDICAL USE."  ...Isn't the virus a medical issue?

Masks and hand sanitizers which were scarce for so long, are in such abundance in this area, most sit unsold and will end up being discarded unless a panic can be recreated.  ...Then there's the hand sanitizers made with Methanol (I think from China)which is toxic.

Indoor dining with limited occupancy is allowed in most states.  ....NJ's governor has not allowed inside dining AT ALL.  ...The casinos are open, but not restaurants, bars, or gyms.

Increased testing has identified more positives, but most are asymptomatic (at least here in the northeast).  ....Yet, many questions are unanswered.  ....If positive, how long are you contagious?  ....If you test negative today to let you return to work, or travel, what happens tomorrow or the next day?  ....If positive and asymptomatic, are you contagious and for how long?  ....If you test positive and go untreated, how long do you remain positive?

The virus is considered highly contagious, yet there are many examples of people living together where only one is positive while others test negative.

Recent facts that have been uncovered show that much information that was presented was deceitful.

I do believe that anyone who feels, or is,  at risk SHOULD take precautions to protect themselves.  ...Commonly seen face coverings do not prevent anyone from getting the virus.  ....N95 masks are only 95% effective in stopping viruses, but offer the greatest protection for the wearer.

I agree on your points Bruce. Careful is best. Everybody had to wear gloves months ago.. The virus could survive on surfaces long enough to be transfered...  What happened to the need for gloves?

now we are told to not touch the mask or our face if the mask is removed.

At my part time job... there is a fellow that has quarantined for 2 weeks because he thought he had the covid.. his test came back negative I was told. Not sure where that is going.

A friend of mine :  His sister will not bring the groceries into the house from the store. The non perishables sit in the garage for 48 hours. They bought a fridge for the garage to keep perishables in for 48 hours before they are allowed into the house.

My buddy says both his sister and  their  brother dress up like a space flight suit  to go out anywhere.  By the way: this is in Wisconsin

The accuracy of virus testing has been questioned a lot lately.  ...Here is a recent example:

My wife will work form home for a while longer...  Management says the office setup is such that the company can not meet CDC guidelines for spacing between employees, entrance and exits for the lunch room, eating at their desk areas is not allowed.

Arizona released the requirements for clubs, bars, gyms to open back up at partial capacity..  Seem like strict numbers to me on percentages of new virus cases to new testing..  I'd say it will be several weeks  before the gyms , bars, clubs can partially reopen without going rogue.

Will be interesting on new virus infection numbers blamed on the Sturgis motorcycle gathering..   :!:

Getting more interesting here... A water park has filed a law suit against the State of Arizona to reopen.

A gym owner was cited with 11 violations for being open for business.  Seems like I read 2500.00 dollars fine per violation and up to 6 month in jail if convicted. Weird how a guy trying to save his business is beat down so hard and the state can not prove gyms are a huge problem with the spread of the Wuhan Chinese flu virus.

Queen Creek AZ is opening their schools up on August 17.. Even tho the new Chinese virus case numbers have not dropped down in % numbers the AZ state officials would like to see.  Some teachers have resigned in Queen Creek for  fear of the Chinese virus.
