Arizona numbers are up for the Chinese virus.  About the same around the country is what I read.

I still wear my face covering at work  when I walk out of my immediate area. Most people at work have stopped wearing masks which is opposite of what the company has asked.  This has created ""issues"" ,but I try to stay the course.

Our province has had a steady and large uptake in cases. I think more new daily now than when we shut down in March . I hope we do not go back into shut down for the schools but I do not think it would hurt if bars and restaurants went back to doing take out only .

Friday I got the best news I've gotten in a while. My driver who had heart problems due to COVID called. He is one month away from the end of his available rehab and he'll be released to full duty! It was only about 4 months ago his doctor told him he might never work again.

We visit a restaurant for breakfast on the weekends about once a month.  Local owned place, they have 2 locations.  dang good food.

Something happened at this restaurant with the Chinese flu and AZ rules for the flu. An inspection or maybe  a complaint must have happened. They have removed about 6 more tables. Closed off fully a seating area that was previously only half closed off.  There is now a small table next to the entrance door with masks, antiseptic wipes, sanitizer, more signs on required masks , social distance requirements.  They had sanitizer available before , just not on a separate table.

Yet: there is a young gal waitress that we have never seen her with a mask on. All other wait and prep staff wear masks... It remains weird times in 2020.

Cases have been climbing here in Manitoba.  Province has implemented shut downs:

-  The maximum size of gatherings is five people. This applies to ceremonies such as weddings and funerals and social events

-  All community, cultural and religious gatherings are to be at 15 per cent of a site's

-  Restaurants and other public food establishments, and bars, beverage rooms, brew pubs, micro-breweries and distilleries are required to close to in-person dining. Take-out, delivery and drive-thru services may continue.

-  Grocery stores and pharmacies must maintain site capacity at 50 per cent. All other retail capacity is reduced to 25 per cent or five people, whichever is higher

-  There is no change to school requirements at this time.

-  Elective and non-urgent surgery and diagnostic services may be postponed Hospital visitation is suspended, with exceptions made on a case-by-case basis

-  Gyms and fitness centres are to maintain site occupancy at 25 per cent of a site's capacity.

-  All casinos, VLTs, recreational facilities, group sports, arcades, bowling alleys, all indoor and outdoor sport facilities, museums, galleries, libraries, movie theatres and concert halls are closed.

-  The maximum occupancy of personal service businesses is limited to 50 per cent.

Hopefully this will help to bring the numbers down.  Hard on businesses many that are unsure that they can weather the shut downs.

I've been listening to the news of a Covid 19 vaccine...  I wonder if it will be in the form of a suppository in keeping with how the year 2020 has been so far?

I went to the grocery store today. No water or toilet paper on the shelves. Looks like panic buying again.

Yes..  by golly , I forgot to mention that. Last week on monday, my wife's supervisor text messaged her about Costco was out of paper products. That same monday a co-worker of mine said his daughter called.  She manages 2 Frys stores in Casa Grande AZ area.  She said the Fry's warehouse was out of paper products.

There has been Nothing in the news about this around here.

Like most of the country , virus positive test numbers are up in AZ.  We are at 10% positivity rate in the test results.

There was a truck show on the west side..  we wanted to go.  Yet we stayed home more so for my wifes increased risk of problems if she contracts the virus.

+Our daily new cases rate went through the roof ! We started seeing over 100 cases per day for the last week and on Friday we had over 300 new cases ! Schools of over 500 are going into reduced contact hours and reduced class size this coming week . I will have to start an online classroom component to my classes by thursday. Complacency has hit us hard . We now have a mask rule for any community of over 5000 . I dont understand why they dont just say everywhere ? Gyms remain open with greater distance between stations and last call at the bars is now 10PM .

I'm not real sure about my boss, think he's flirting with disaster. He had a gathering of 35 at his house Friday night. Inside.

we had a group of about 12 anti mask protesters march through a shopping mall last week . They were fined $2600 by friday. One church had a revival a month or so ago , fined $14000 .  It seems like churches and bars are the ones keeping the virus going .

The purpose of Boss's event was rehearsal dinner for a friend from his church.

In recent days we have been at both Home Depot and Lowes stores.  I saw more folks in Lowes with no face covering than Home Depot.

Couple of restaurants we visit have moved a few more tables outside. The small shopping centers they are in , the front walk area is large enough for these tables.  Since the 2 locations I speak of, the next door businesses are gone so the tables and people do not infringe on anything.

We wait for our governor Doug to announce changes because of increased virus numbers.. He has not be seen much lately. plenty of vocal people are calling him out for action.

Many of our schools are closing back down to distance learning only.  The kids are not catching the virus, mostly the teach and support staff are the ones testing positive.

I just wonder where the fines go and how those funds are used to prevent more of same. The incoming penalty money is to be a deterrant to offenders but could also deter city officials from doing things to reduce that flow of income.

My folks' church uses a radio transmitter like drive in movies and has had some drive in services.

Walmart closest to house is shut down temporarily for cleaning but what does that mean?

Our boss announced that our Christmas gathering will be at his home.

To date, the only thing changed about my world is I mask up to get groceries. The rest is same but I have always wished the shop would switch a couple of inside door knobs to the lever type. To curtail disease transmission. You wash up good then have to twist two very dirty knobs to return to work.

I think funerals create the toughest moral conundrum. You guys probably talked all this out already, I haven't really followed the conversation though.

From what I see at bus stops, etc. kids aren't having a problem keeping a mask on but all day would sure suck. Any individual people I see without a mask have been wearing that look of shame. That probably changes when they go to a church or bar and participate in mass denial. Tough to bend an elbow or sing praises through a piece of old shirt.
