Quote from: "Crosley"I even doubt the virus was the main cause of death in many cases.
This is one reason I think AZ listed as a "hot bed state" of the covid 19 chinese virus is false.  I do not believe the reporting is fair and correct

There seems to be a lot of falsely-reported covid deaths.  ...Seems it has to do with hospitals receiving more $$ if covid related.

Someone died in a car crash, tested positive for covid after death, so that was a "covid death."

Someone else died of a drug overdose, tested positive after death, so that was also reported as a covid death.

There is also anti-Trump politics in play here to make things seem much worse than they may be.  ...Also greed for $$.  ...Many companies made big profits from covid, while many more businesses suffered big time.

Yes, the virus IS to be taken seriously, but many doubts are being raised about the information we receive.
...Symptoms vary by individual.  No longer just a fever and dry cough.
...When, and how long, someone may be contagious.
...Incubation times.
...Tests can have false positives or false negatives.
...The helpfulness of anti-body testing is questionable.  (Presence of antibodies does not prove immunity to re-infection.)
...Virus life on surfaces has many opinions.
...We were told that the virus would lessen during summer when the weather was getting hotter, yet cases in Florida & Arizona are now supposedly increasing.

NY & NJ governors had many elderly patients transferred to nursing homes where they died, but before they did, covid spread to other residents & staff.  ...As of today, 49.5% of NJ's reported covid deaths occurred in nursing home residents & staff.

After listening and complying with the recommendations and lockdowns for 3-1/2 months, most areas of NJ are starting to rebel.  ...It seems the unfairness to small-business (shutdowns), the economic impact of the area, the reduction of hospital cases, etc is making many people trying to restore their lives to somewhat normal.  ...Our hypocritical governor who mandates face masks and social distancing was filmed marching arm-in-arm, sans mask, with protesters.  ...This changed a lot of people's opinions of covid.  ...Apparently protesters, demonstrators, & rioters are immune to covid.

I have heard my former employer had the building "hospital grade disinfected" this week.

Many of the workers are back at the job as they wait for covid test results.  Others have chosen to sit at home and receive "covid pay"  while waiting for test results

It's ironic to me that businesses that have been closed here for 3 months are doing disinfecting now before opening.
...Cleaning, I can understand, but why disinfecting??
...We have been told virus life on surfaces does not exceed 2-3 days.

It is more confusing here...  Hospitals say they are nearing capacity on ICU type beds because of chinese virus.  They are activating their "surge plans"

There are some number crunchers and 1 congressman that I know of  that state the number of virus  patients that are leaving the hospital are out pacing the new virus  arrivals.

So...  I ask:  which is it?

On another note:  1 club in Snottsdale AZ has been served charges on CDC and Arizona Governor virus mandate violations against their liquor license .... Suddenly  a few other Snottsdale clubs have decided to stay closed thru this weekend  into next week.  Weird, LOL .. These clubs received warnings and primarily blame the customers for the violations.

Since you folks in other states may not know:  Snottsdale clubs have been on the news reports with large crowds and little social distancing or mask worn...  That same stuff has occurred in many states at various club hot spots.

Governor Doug of Arizona:  announced shut downs today. For 30 days.

bars, river tubing, gyms, nightclubs, waterparks, movie theaters ... opening of schools has  been delayed for 2 weeks further into August.

I am not sure if crowds of protesters are still allowed as before?

gathering of more than 50 ppl is not allowed.....  churches and political rallies are exempt.

Altho: new cases of chinese flu are expected to rise the next 2 weeks or more.

Our theaters and bars are allowed to open at half capacity or less  , restaurants have been open for a while at half capacity . Our province of just over a million people has had just over 700 cases in total . The latest surge has been from a religious farming colony (Hutterite) that has resisted testing .

Kansas institutes a mask requirement on friday. I have seen around 30% of the people using them. Mostly older folks.

In NJ, indoor dining was allowed to resume July 2nd with reduced capacity.  ....Restaurants brought back and/or hired employees and brought in thousands of $$$ of food inventory, anticipating the surge in business.

72 Hours before the re-opening, our governor rescinded his executive order, and has suspended indoor dining indefinitely.  ,,,,He claims his decision is based on data from other states, but the restaurant industry here is * at our Demo governor.  ....Some state legislators (of his party) are now beginning to question the governor's authority and decisions, because he will not disclose the "data" he is using to justify his actions.

Our "self-proclaimed king" is picking & choosing which businesses he will allow to open and which ones have to remain closed.  ....More and more businesses are closing permanently.  ....Many restaurants/bars which were allowed to serve take-out only have closed their doors because there was not enough sales to justify their expenses.

Things are turning out to be more political in nature than out of covid necessity.  ....Covid hospitalizations, ICU patients, & ventilator patients are at very low levels and have been declining steadily, and are at their lowest levels since early March.

There is speculation here that after November's election, depending on result, covid threat may be non-existent.  ...Time will tell.

All the information that I'm seeing is that the covid cases are on a huge rise. Ask Texas and Arizona about their rises in new cases.  My younger daughter (44) works in IT in Houston, and said she's coming home for the 4th. She also said that someone in her office tested positive for covid, so everyone was tested. She drove here before getting her results. Guess what? She's positive, but she's staying with her mother, and not here, so I won't be seeing her this Holiday weekend.

All you have to do is look worldwide to see this isn't some demo plot to overthrow the pres. He'll do that on his own.

There certainly are plenty of examples of what happens when people spout "proclamations" and grab dictatorial powers. That has never played well throughout history.  That's why we supposedly have checks and balances in place but whenever the "king's & queen's" power is questioned, they dig in even more and even punish those challengers.

It seems that human nature is showing it's ugly side everywhere.

Phil, you are correct.  ...I failed to mention that I was writing about the declines in hospitalizations and lower numbers in my state of NJ.  ....Some of our neighboring states are also showing declines in hospitalizations although number of positives keep increasing due to more testing.  ...This seems to indicate that many positives are asymptomatic or have milder symptoms, and the majority of positives do not require hospitalization.

There is also uncertainty (among the medical community) about when, and for how long, a positive-tested person is contagious.

I agree the virus is real, but politics are definitely in play.  ...The governor of NY (Andrew Cuomo) praised Trump for all of the help , services, equipment, manpower, and money the Feds supplied to NY.   ....A hospital ship was sent to NYC, and the huge Javit's Convention center was converted by the Fed into a facility to house covid patients.  ...Neither of these efforts was used by NYC.  ...Ventilators, which Cuomo said he needed, were supplied in excess and ultimately not needed.  ...Now that NY is starting to recover, Cuomo's saying Trump did not do enough to help NY, and is bashing him.

NJ's governor/dictator demands social distancing and mask wearing in public, as well as mandatory masks for employees and customers.  ...He was filmed marching arm-in-arm, sans mask, with protestors.  ...He was questioned about that during a press conference yesterday, and his response was, "We won't talk about that."   ...Hypocrite!

It's getting ugly out there. Three of my 47 drivers are currently on quarantine waiting for test results. I'm afraid one of them probably lost the lotto. He was tested because he felt as though he was developing symptoms. This afternoon his wife rushed him to the emergency room.

And he's not that old. I'd have to look it up but he looks to be about 40.

The increase in test results here in AZ does not surprise me...  A month ago there was a huge push on testing people since AZ had been slow at the start of the lock down months ago.  Usual reasons were given:  No test kits, no PPE, No personel to apply tests..

Hospitals in Maricopa County say they are at 89%  ICU capaicity. Many health care ppl have sent letter to the governor for more action.  Still:  a congressman and a few others provide hospitialized numbers that show the virus cases are not at the cause of the  high volume of ppl in ICU  and ventilators.. So which is it?

My brother and his wife cancelled their trip to CT because of the 14 day quarantine for AZ ppl arriving in CT..  Their trip was only 8 days long and he had several thing to handle while there.

A few gym owners are not complying with the AZ governor closure order. 1 lawsuit will be filed I hear against the governor and AZ state.. On the TV news it was reported 2 were cited.  1 gym was cited by AZ liquor license board?  Gyms must have changed over the years?  I did not know liquor was served in gyms now.

Arizona has been put at the top of the hot spot list for the chinese virus by New York Times.

My congressional rep in DC posted numbers that show AZ numbers about 35% lower per million person capita than the NY paper listed.  I keep asking on social media directed at my Congressional rep and main street media:  Which numbers are accurate?  He also posted testing numbers per 100k persons compare AZ to some of the foreign countrys AZ was listed with.  AZ is testing a much larger % of the population than the over seas countrys are testing.

I chatted with a fellow last night.  I highly respect him and his opinions. He told me that friends of his in 2 different local  hospitals told him the crisis played out in the media is over played.  Their respective hospitals they work at are not near  fully loaded and have capacity open.

At least one local news TV place is reporting the new 24 hour death numbers with a disclaimer about death cert matching...  like 76 new covid deaths reported but 52 of those deaths are weeks old from death certificate matching - searching..

I still ask:  Which numbers are more accurate?
