Matt, the bumperette is interesting. It will be fun to see what the final rendering of the truck will be.

I sold my original Dakota Rt wheels on ebay last night. Today I added the shipping labels and delivered then to the pickup point. They have been in the shed for around 18 years. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to need them. :)

I was looking for some information tonight and stumbled on this. I was unaware that I received some attention. :)

Kool , you received some media attention.  I know the Mustang parts had some "issues"...  I enjoyed reading about the process of the build.

On the wheels storage for 18 yrs..  funny you mention the timeline.  I am looking at most items in the shop and house like that for about 2 yrs now.  I just tossed out about 40 used OEM type lug nutz from 2 coffee cans.  IF I have used 3 lug nutz out of those cans in the last 10 yrs it would surprise me.

Wife and I cleared out a basic metal storage cabinet in the garage 3 weeks ago. The ol beige double door 6 foot high cabinet. Stuff in the cabinet had us  both saying "how many years has that been in there? "

trying to fix my heater in the 65 merc today. Got it figured out to no power at the fuse panel. go to take the panel off and it is secured by 2 screws that go through the firewall into the ds front wheel well . The screws are about 2" or longer at least with an inch or more out in the wheel well. Rust sprayed them and tried but they are still fighting back so I sprayed them again and will let them sit for a day . The last thing I want to do is strip out a screw up under the dash!

Slap five!  :)  8)  Koolio.

Happy IDJ finally figured out it was a vacuum advance diaphragm that gave out. During carb tuning. On the trusty and noble 455. That other carb still has a definite problem. I reckon thats OK. Things have to get super obvious for me to diagnose. Only resorted to foruming to share that joy. And to put off going to the garage now to cut squealers off rear pads on the DDGTP.

Was going to post up a fresh page of renderings but the files are eluding me. Strange. Oh well gotta find overdrive gumption next couple hours doing chores to prep for the week. Probably only have room to squeeze in one western tonight. Ugh I better get crackalackin'.

Didn't have it in me to jack up the GTP in the "cold" so another squealy day. But I found the image I was hunting. It shows a matching rear bumperette treatment. In my web travels, happened across stock 51 F1 tail lights and omigosh can't see a reason those wouldn't be good too. So I also made a version of that which uses the lamp housings as bumper ends, halfway tucked into notched bed sill corners.

Bless his heart, the owner is perpetually exhausted from running his business 7 days a week. And after many hours of my own work at home... we are no closer to having a decision on anything back there really. But I know how it is... yourself is hardest to choose for on big things plus when concentration is elusive, deciding not to choose is the wise choice.

So I didn't press too hard but now vertical tail lights are on the table although he didn't like the tiny bagger lights. F1 lamps with dots installed are but a hop skip jump from the Cosmopolitans visually, to me anyhow. We can make bezels and lenses so its really a too many choices issue. It will be interesting to see what flies.
