I see. It puts a thumbnail in the post and reduced image size to half. Requires clicking on thumbnail to see, or more extra steps on my end. Still headless Pogo for me.

If Fat Cat and enjenjo want me to upload here, thats what I'll do. I understand that I don't understand, I just don't want to complicate any worlds other than my own. My threads have little to offer so its just not that important. Things don't have to be my way, I won't throw a tantrum. I'm 55. I just don't already know everything or have a fully operational desktop or want a free one. Forget that I whined. Disgust simply musn't enter one's posts but I do think it is important for readers to be aware when hurdles appear. Consider me a fixed problem. Special attention is not what I want.

Well crap, lost a post. The new software forces a selection of time period to be logged in and I timed out. Yes, I remember the suggestions for avoiding that.

What I came to say is the blog went the same route. I could not post a fullsize pic to save my life now. The Borg have assumed control and resistance is futile. I have been assimilated. So I tellya whut... not changing a dang thing about what I do except to redouble efforts to keep my mouth shut. Only drama comes out. ::)

The tear drops look most appropriate with the bed rail filler panels.  :)

Further refinements to more closely reflect my vision and getting warmer, so to speak-

I was trying to leave a slight angle along the bottom but it came out straight across and that looks OK. Rounded the outside corner to resemble the fender bottom loosely. Contoured wraparound pan ends may be made seperately then joined to it and pockets.

Moved tag and pan center up plus took an inch of height off the pan. ^^^ The white thing shown above is showing an extension of the fender, to be adjusted when real-er tires are on.

Still sits just out past flush with gate, like a quarter inch. I like the corner shape and tag recess thing well enough-

I know, not painted it looks like a step bumper. ::) Maybe, yeah. You'd have to know where I launched this career to understand. But at the far end there ^^^ you can pick up on a shape which resembles that of the truck's front bottom corners. Where frt fenders meet valance. Thats the visual that just has to go straight from head to metal, then the intended contour will become more obvious. A bit of an optical illusion results since the pan corners are the only place where it sticks out.

Not shown this time are the bumperettes. According to eyeball and due to the front ones being angled down and these not... the rears have to be narrower to maintain visual continuity around the truck. But that works. As shown here, the rail ends are plenty covered and tank should hide fine-

Tape on gate indicates a molding the owner liked. On the stake pockets are saddle bag "bagger lights" , 5.5 x 1". Because everybodys doing it. :o

The bumperettes wrap around, rounded like up front. Same look as there. In my mind. Almost.

I very much appreciate hearing about how these things develop as the projects unfold. As it says in the sig of a poster on another site, "every aspect of my project has been temporarily impossible.

The filler panel at the bottom of the fenders is on my maybe list. I've seen that before on a truck with several mods and it looked really good. His rear pan went straight down to cover most of the rear view. He had 48 Ford car tail lights mounted on the fenders pretty low. I'm concerned with tail lights real low that at a traffic signal, people can't see them.

Fender bottoms will depend on tires, like the A. My whole pan may move up another inch past today's revision because a suggestion came late in half-day... read on

First thing, I rounded off the corner better and made the pocket extension portion-

Pan is only 3/16" proud, past the gate-

This is an angle I like, again looking at the far end-

Just dodging the issue of gate hinge at the moment but as you can see, the pan can scoot up much closer to the gate if not for that-

I was feeling proud enough then so I scribbled what I think might be an eye catching exhaust outlet option-

So I goes to my phone to get pics to send F1 man and theres a text from him, asking about another of the idea flakes from the flurry I've emitted. These cool rounded pocket corner fillers. Flush and gapped with gate and with lamps on them. Seamlessly blended at top and bottom-

You can see how with the hinge covered, the whole pan could move straight up. Tag might end up hanging down past a smidge but thats OK-

THAT... was the end of day victory. Slapped the rounded corner filler up there with tape and all the bodymen immediately said "O yeah!". Customer gave double thumbs up to a pic of it. I'd say the final rendition is 95% complete in my head. These pieces are just mockups but may get used.

Anyway, this being done would leave just the duly wicked and primo exhaust exits-to-be, probably ending up on the sides of the fenders looking like who-knows-what.

My 1st thought was I like the rounded post. :) I've been hiding my exhaust underneath because blending in is so difficult at times. If the flow of the vehicle is seamless, an exhaust protruding somewhere doesn't always fit. Just my worthless opinion. :) F! man is getting into this which would make me happy. It will have his fingerprint on it as well as yours. Aren't 2 heads better than 1? :)

Aw, you know... it depends.  :)

Gender, not sex, ( if one can make that separation ) is like early birds and night owls in that every human is one or the other. In nature and with humans, each gender has a duty in perpetuating their species. That being said and feeling free to express abstract thought, male is the lonely exploring discoverer of new things while female is who creates and nurtures new life, and makes life more pleasant for all in fresh ways. Example: man leaves camp, gone two days skillfully hunting in rough conditions but returns with fresh smelly kill. Woman adds nuts and berries and talent, making a wonderful feast for the whole tribe when man wakes up.

Why explain my understanding of life? Because in this case, I play the female mostly. But I'm a man. It takes both to produce best results... a thinker-upper and a developer. For parts of this like bumperettes, I got to be male. I like that. For parts of this like hood, tail lights, and bed rails... I play the female role. Making the fresh kill as delicious as I know how for everyone whether I enjoy the flavor or not. Two heads are of course better than one but as in nature, it is best if each plays one part or the other. Theres a lot of that back-and-forth on this job and I am just happy to play a part. But I see my primary responsibility as developing ideas brought to me. When none are, I enjoy providing some of my own. He helps to develop those.

Keeping track of which role I play in what area of the vehicle is an intuition I am learning. In some cases I say what is right, in others I listen and try to develop an idea I may not agree with, because it is right.

So... if you are paying someone to do it I'd say yes two heads are better than one. The results are more spectacular that way. On the other hand, if the build is by and for one person, to be appreciated in motion from within... one head only gives the purest expression of a concept. Those results can also be spectacular. Some are able to do this repeatedly, like yourself. From scratch, and with sale value. Some are only able to dream of this and getting an idea used by someone else is as close as we come. Like me. Satisfaction depends on the mind and the objective. I'd prefer to take inspiration from no one so that ideas are as fresh and natural and raw as possible. Because thats when I get to be male. Powers that be keep that in check. If two heads, being equal, contribute to an end result... yes that probably gives the best there is. But I can't think of a scenario where that truly applies.

I just like helping people get what they want. Its as close as I'll get to automotively expressing myself. :) And I think the front pockets should have rounded bottoms to match.

Hmm, last post got an "edited" label. I promptly changed one word from stealthily to skillfully. fyi.

Anyhow if you read all that  you deserve this image, straight from my mind's eye. Theres finally enough truck in place to reference for a duly true rendering of the result to be produced. This isn't that but is the low or no buck version, in a "quickly" edited photo where the intended arrangement is depicted with fair accuracy. I sent it to F1 man and he said the tail light looks wrong. Well, I don't have tail lights. Only a piece of tape cut to dimensions told verbally and with ends shaped kinda like the picture of them. But I think we need look no farther, this is it minus whatever exhaust ends up happening.

Acceptance is a relevant factor so let me know what you think.  :) All four or five of you.

Turns out boss had him on lights longer than what I'd been made aware of. And the edited picture just isn't good enough to convey the shapes thanks to impossible lighting being the only available. So I am working on a drawing in hopes of more clearly showing the construction. I should say, already did the drawing but forgot to move the pan up. Redrawing as time allows. Astute observers will note that my statement about there having to be something in place to say no to... is playing out. I just take guesses then fix complaints until everyone runs out of no's.

Three heads sucks, I know that! ;)

Wow. Nobody can even tell anything from all the images. One person who has seen the whole buildup didn't know the bumperettes were seperate pieces. Obviously I am delusional and again my art is rubbish. Apologies to all.
Matt

Not knowing how else to proceed, I sent the last image to the owner and the nightmare is finally over. After months if not years of creating dozens if not hundreds of images... drumroll please...

I am to build it as shown, with no tail lights.
