Better than last time, I think. :) I won't know for sure until the sunlight hits it.

Lunch break at O&S. I started playing patch work quilt. I have installed sound deadener on the firewall to facilitate the installation of the ac and a few other items. I hadn't purchased enough to do the whole cab so this is a temporary stopping point.

After an embarrassing amount of time. The back glass is in. This required the assistance of my most excellent wife who is not afraid to get dirty. :) She now knows a lot more about installing rubber gasket glass. :) I bought a different brand of sound mat to exp. I wouldn't rate as the same as thermotec but it may work as well. I covered most of the panels that aren't double walled. As you all know, it makes a terrific difference.

The glass installer just left. He had help and it took a while. I can see that I would have struggled a lot to install that on my own. Way better than me trying to do it by myself. :) The old windshield had a few pits. I'd bet I would have broken it before I got it in. :)

Thank you, Matt.
Today was a good day. Not only was it warm enough after work to be comfortable outside but I didn't scratch anything in returning the cab to it's home. :) I feel like primitive pete with the methods I used but the H.F. hoist is good enough for this job. The pics show how this was accomplished and the chassis will remain outside until all the rest of the parts are painted except for the bed. When I can put it in and make it drivable, it will go back in the shop.

Momentary break at O&S. (bathroom) I put sound mat inside the doors where I could safely reach. Both doors have been blocked and I'm half finished with one fender.

End of day. Doors and fenders turned blue. T.B. :)

There's orange peel to deal with but no other visible flaws. The body work came out good so I'm happy about that. :) It's still half dark when I took theses pics so they're only so good.

Nce work. Is this still destined for yard truck duty? "Wife and son's yard truck" to "haul manure in"?  :?:  I bet you could flip it within a half hour of sitting down in a rocker on the porch at the feed-n-seed for three times what you've got in it. IF you wear a Ford hat.

Matt, it still destined to be the crap truck. My son is somewhat excited about it. He would rather have a 5 speed but I wasn't able to find a conversion for any decent price.
End of the day at O&S. I believe I have all the sheet metal painted to put the front of the truck together. I have the trim ring for the headliner and the steering column left to turn white. I put clear on the door panels because they will be exposed to sun while sitting outside. The shop is cleaned up somewhat and everything is put up. I guess I'm ready for monday and work. :)

Have a good week, I guess. You call that a weekend? Whew.I reckon a good weather day does draw a man out to the shop. One thing we csn rest assured of is that any wayward dung that may some day find it's way onto the finish... WILL wipe off. My guess is your interior color selection was a clever move to hedge the odds in favor of smear avoidance. Well played! :)

I moved stuff around to start color sanding. I think I may flow coat these parts. Because the back side of the doors is painted, I can lay them flat and have a good chance at getting one coat of clear on and being acceptable. :)
