Frank, there is an upgrade available for your CAD program, but it's only good for 6" wide projects. I've got a couple around here somewhere, but couldn't find either one.

Here is one from Amazon, I'm sure they are available everywhere. Of course, sometimes the old stuff works better. I'll remember to try CAD 1.0 sometime.

I've tried the upgrade, it hard to mark holes in, and once you cut the wires off, it's hard to stick them back on with tape.

Hmmm...never thought of that.

I find that tool good for contour checking on body work. It tells me how bad I am doing .

Did some more today, mostly cleaning and painting parts I am going to reuse. I did get the spring perches welded to the rear end, but there is a lot of work to do before I can install it.

When I see one come into the shop, I do the hammerscatter mod before first usage for this reason.

Frank its lookin good to me so far, nice tidy work. Over my head, but neat and sturdy.

I hear PAD 101 finals are next week across the hall. Posterboard... for sheetmetal, that is.

Is Pepsi really all thats left? Ok then.   :T)

I started disassembly on the cab today, Pulled the wipers, windshield regulator, drained the fuel, and cleaned more parts. I have to get some clutch head bits to go much further

I have a clutch head screwdriver that I bought in 1969 to remove some screws from the camshaft block plate on some Ford engine I was working on. I didn't come across them again until doing the 53 Chevy pickup. :)

I remember buying my first set to work on GM step Vans "Way Back When"...
You couldn't take up the floor boards without them & could not do "serious" engine work without pulling up the floor...
Also the only way to change 4160 Holley metering plates ...

Did I mention that they used to "rust" in place

I managed to get some work done today. I sand blasted and started priming the Ebay 216 valve cover I have for the new engine. It was actually in pretty good shape. After cleaning it up, it had one small dent on the back, where it is not going to show. I pulled the panel over the windshield, I managed to get all of the clutch head screws out but one, I cut a straight slot in it, and got that one out too. Had to evict a family of mice that was living there, including grandpa's bones. The mouse urine has pretty much ate out the bottom of the panel, I'll have to see if it can be repaired.

One of the new parts He brought with the truck was a NOS clutch release lever. When I took it out of the box it had a receipt wrapped around it. It was sold 11 24 48 with a list price of $2.55, and a cost of $1.78.

I started building the fuel tank mounts, I have one about half done.

It's amazing what parts sold for back then. Of course we didn't make much either.
