Charlie Chops 1940

I sold the dirt tires and orange wheels off the Whiskey Ridge (never thought I'd ever say "okay" about them), but the car just didn't feel right.

So I went back to a set of orange steel wheels with a new pair of Traction T/A 185-65-15's on the front and remounted the 265-75-15's off the Hals.

Finished up today and snapped a couple shots. I believe the planets are correctly aligned again.

I looks real good to me.  I would not take my opinion about looks to the bank.  My wife has to pick out my clothes.  Levis and orange Tshirt always look okay to me. :D

It does look good Charlie. You have good taste.

Sounds strange ,but to me the aluminum wheels actually detract from the looks of the car ...They look "out of place" or "Too Prominent"  for some reason..... They catch your eye before the car does ....Not good....

Wheels are subjective to opinion but if performance is the determining factor, radials have to be better than bias ply????

Oh yeah, hands down, the radials out perform the bias dirt tires I originally had on the car.

Putting another banjo rear together. 3:25 gears( the other one has 4:11) and both open drive. Setting these up with the gaskets is a pain.

Charlie,,,,,, might I ask what tire sizes you have on you orange wheels and what widths the rims are,,,,,,,,, which by the way look  8)
What\'s that noise?,,, Never mind,, I\'ll check it later

The fronts are 15x6 with Traction T/A 185-65-15 radials. The rears are 15x8 with Long Trail T/A 265-75-15 radials. I buy most of my tires from the Tire Rack. Their South Bend, IN store is about 125 miles away. Sometimes I order ahead and pick them up if I can combine it with another trip. Basically it's cheaper for me to pick up a set of 4 and to have 2 shipped by UPS. I ordered the 185's in the AM one day and got them the next afternoon.

I had the rears on 7" rims before, I think they look "better" on the 8's. The Tire Rack has an excellent web page where it is possible to check specs and reviews on thousands of tires. I rarely buy a tire anywhere else unless I'm forced to for some reason. I find their prices to the best - an exception once in awhile - but hardly worth running around to the local tire stores.

Today I took my wife to Fatcats house for her mothers day dinner. I did not make it to coldwater yesterday, wife was still feeling poorly. Dr now thinks she has an infection in her leg.

Installed wiring on the 32 5 window today, a couple plugs, and the chassis is done. Also worked in the garden, planted some tomatos.

Drove Linda to Akron yesterday so that she could be with our daughter for her Dr's appointment. Keleigh will need surgery because she has an 80% chance of having another blood clot in her arm. Doctor says she'll be OK for a while if she stays on medication. With Linda's up-coming Cataract surgery I have been cautious about her driving but she drove home and did OK but awfully slooow. She had to stop and rest at the Flower Factory for a couple of hours and then had to stop at a Walmart and Lowes garden centers to buy something to fill the new flower pots she had bought at the first stop. I spent today driving. Left Williamsburg Va. 7:15 a.m and pulled into home here at 11:00 p.m. My wife was riding shotgun so we stopped and ate in Columbus Oh.  Enjenjo I tooted the horn when I went past your exit off I-475/US 23
