build day

Time to start planning another build day. Any suggestions as to when?

What's your thoughts? We're going to have to have quite a few if we're going to make much progress. I vote for a tribuildathon.....one before fall, one during fall, and one after fall.

Maybe more if you're up to it.

Are we in need of more funds?

I have a small cash fund from selling the parts we don't need. I would have to look for the exact number, but it's around $400. We could of course use more.

I am up for as many build days as possible, one a month if we can. Since every one was busy this summer, I did not schedule any build days.

We have to get the body a little further along so we can start mocking it up. I did get some measurements off a stock body, courtesy of fatcat at the Crosley national meet. Once we have that, we can start on the frame. We have the material for that on hand already.

Parts we have for the frame

Tubing for rails
9" rear housing
rear 4 bar brackets
rear coilover shocks
Powerglide trans(core)
rear rims

seat
brake and clutch pedal assembly

front spindles
front axle
steering wheel

We need

roll bar tubing 1 3/4".120 wall
front rims (Tbird spare rims)
steering box
front hubs/rotors
belts and harness
.250 aluminum for motor plate 24" by 36"
rod ends for rear suspension 3/4" thread
trans rebuild kit for the glide
torque convertor
a pair of slicks 10.50 by 28 or bigger good enough for at least mockup

As far as labor

someone to build the trans
general labor to assemble the body
someone to bend up the cage

I have the week of Labor Day off through Sept 14th. I'm going to the Prelude on the 9th at Eldora but the rest of the week is open. Saturday is the 12th. I have a few vacation days left and may take Oct 1, 2, 3 off.

I know that some of the group is retired (not me). I'm off every Monday. I know I could work in a few of those this fall if anyone else would be interested.
