Tony, I'm sorry I haven't been around for a few days, or I'd have offered my condolences sooner.

November 5 I went to the auto paint store and bought a gallon of Capri Cream for the Corvair, along with the necessary reducers and catalyst, plus three aerosol cans of the same paint. Dammit, that's not cheap, but it's easy to paint a jamb, then the door and hang it, then go on to the next.  Don't have to keep mixing and cleaning the gun.  Got both doors and jambs done, plus the front trunk surround.  Saw that I wasn't going to have enough cans to do the engine compartment surround and the insides of the trunk and engine covers, so I went back to the paint store for three more cans.

I took one of the empty cans with me.  Got home and started painting around the engine area and needed one more coat, so I grabbed one of the new cans and gave it the final coat.  What??  It's flat paint.  Took the three cans back today and showed the guy what it looked like on a strip of flat metal that I had painted with the first batch and second batch.

He got on the phone with the guy who had mixed up the last batch of paint and asked him what had happened.  Don't know, other than he had mixed up a pint of paint and distributed it to the three cans, instead of mixing each can on its own.  The guy there today is the one who made the first batch.  He mixed them up individually and I tried one and it was glossy, so we're all happy again, except for having to do that small part over with another coat.

H*ll of a story Phil.. its frustrating for sure.  I have not bought or painted a vehicle in years.  The cost$ is crazy now.  I have used soem John Deere Blitz black on the 1962 Falcon we had years ago.

I need to re=paint the fiberglas air dam on my car trailer. It is yellow that matched my 1971 C-10 truck I sold 20 years ago.. Needs to be white now.  I have been looking at rustoleum paint for that?

Still miss that C-10 truck for some reason

No problem.. My brother has not been communicating much with me on this. His 42 yr old daughter does text me. Her and I have grown close in recent years.

Saw this weird VW creation a few weeks ago. It is at a shop on RT 66 , just west of the Wigwam Motel.  Need to get a closer look.  Has not moved in a long time it looks like?

The Wigwam Motel has many old cars sitting in place for the RT 66 theme.. They need to freshen up the old cars a bit. At least move them from time to time?

I worked on suspension modifications on my Harley Ford project. No photos but I made the brackets for the rear spring and I modified the front wishbone so that the quarter elliptical springs and the friction shocks can be mounted.  The goal was to have a prototype frame on wheels by Christmas but I may not get that far.  That's okay, things are moving along. This one is not a race.

The painting saga continued today. I had the three latest cans of cream, so I stood the hood up against the shop overhead door and started spraying, finishing the first can.  Grabbed the second can and started spraying, and it was almost yellow.  Good grief.  Grabbed the third can and finished the hood. Grabbed the yellow can, one of the first cans (MT) and one second can (also MT) and jumped in the truck.  My wife came along for the ride.

This time, I headed in the opposite direction to the main store, about 15 miles farther away.  I'd been doing business there since the 70's, but when I moved south, the southern store was closer.  I've done business there only a couple times.  Anyway, I told the woman behind the counter my story, and the manager heard it also.  She talked with a young guy who was going to mix it up and they found the formula.  I said I'd buy another two cans just to be sure I had enough.  The young guy left to mix the paint and the mgr. whispered something in the womans ear. The kid came back with four cans of paint and the woman said they were only going to charge me for one, mgr's orders.  Cool.  She also asked me if I wanted the yellow can.  I had no use for it, but my wife paints things for the yard and garden, so she took it.

Some days you're the dog and some days you're the hydrant.  I guess today I am the dog.  Next time I need paint, I think I'll either go the extra mile to the original store or their competitor nearby.  May be a while for the next one, though.

Always looking at stuff online I think maybe I need.. Such as a small utility trailer. This one is a Studebaker bed  trailer. He does not list what axle is under it.  One photo you can kinda see what looks like the back side of a differential?

Found a new listing trailer on facebook market place.. Looks a bit sketchy?  Special lugnuts.. Tape on the hitch ?  Only $475.00

Just got hired back to teach machining at my old school . Part time , mornings only for second semester. They could not find another qualified instructor so I am going to train a new guy while teaching the class . He is a former student of mine . 8)

I worked on suspension parts today.  There are still a few parts missing. :) Poor picture but some proof that I did something.

I got a ticket in July for no seatbelt while wearing it. Went to court in August to plead not guilty and again in September to get it anulled. I told my brother of the incident and he recognized the cop's name from his prayer meetings. Turns out his wife has been inexplicably ill for some time. Since then, was recently involved in a car wreck and is now near death. Turns out her breast implants had been slowly leaking, poisoning her. The wreck, specifically the seat belt, burst them. I can't make this stuff up.

Rust work done on the 47 cab job. Firewall just in with screws as requested. My best extrapolation puts the intended body mount heights at 2 3/4" rear, 2" middle, and 2 1/2" at front, to make cab bottom level with frame and running boards. Today I made nut plates for the door I added an adjustment feature to.

The shop crew dogpiled the boss's wife's forlorn white S-10 which was her first new vehicle, for Christmas. I volunteered as requested for over a full day but was only used for half of one, sanding, and got paid for it. They added roll pan and wheels, ditched side moldings, etc. Fresh interior and all. Think the bed got shot today. It should be a nice surprise for her.

Meanwhile, I straightened out bloody nose stuff on a 66 Camino job that still runs a single master cylinder and got my brother to yank the 72 GP from where it sank in yard out closer to the gate so hopefully a flatbed hauler can winch it aboard. Come get it now free, save me the expense. Otherwise it goes in the weeds and vanishes forever. Theres a virgin 400 in it.

Busy day at O&S Construction acres..  Finished the  2nd parts cart wheel conversion.  I did the first cart 2 months ago ?  ::)

Hung up 3 sheets of drywall on my new kitchen wall with the lift and my wife's help .. Would have hung up a few more but we did not have any more sheets of drywall. Will buy more on sunday.

Last photo shows new sheet rock I hung up in the kitchen a couple daze ago. I removed old drop down soffits from original design.  Extensive wire repair and new wires in the walls now as you guys know by now with my excessive whining about the wires. New outlet in wall for microwave vent hood device that will be over the stove now

While doing cab mount stuffs yesterday I dropped my long pry bar. Fortunately I caught it with my face. As if I don't have enough character already. Didn't miss the eye by much, did catch the sharp end. Dang. Only need one more face stitch to make an even two dozen in a lifetime. But it wasn't that severe, just looks like I been brawling a bit. :)

El Camino looks good, Matt.  I had a '46 Ford PU back in the 70/80's, stock 100hp V8, 4 speed with granny low.  Fun truck, but speedo only went to 60 with the 4 speed.

Drywall looking good, Tony.  You going to do the taping, too?

Yes.. All dry wall work will be done by me.  Painting too.

I took down a large sheet of plastic that separated the living room from the new wall construction in the kitchen.  Wife is happy.  I am sneezing my head off.  I'd say I have sneezed 40 times since friday evening?

At 7pm last night , I was scraping popcorn texture off the ceiling of a bedroom.  No rest here at O&S Construction Acres. I wet the texture popcorn first. Easier to scrape. Less dust?
