8,200 is too much for me but I will see if anyone around here is looking for one. I know a few older guys always looking for a new project... I love that truck though man.

Hmm... Is that anywhere near Dandridge (sp) TN? The TN mountains are about 3 hours from me. How much are you looking to sell it for? If it's in my price range and I can sell my dirt bike anytime soon I may be interested in it. I am not sure if I spelled Dandridge right but I go there with a friend once in a while.

Rodder's Roundtable / Daaco Stall Converter?

Well I think I know what you are saying but I do trust the guy. He is really nice and even offered me to help him put it in if I wanted to so I can see how it's done and learn. But about the stall, I say that comment about not getting one since it's there already because I don't want to make things difficult and have him hold off more to order another part which will take more time and probably more money that I DO NOT have at all right now. I am sure a Daaco is just fine for me. I mean heck, this tranny is going behing a 302 only so can't expect much power comming from it. I dont need something for drag racing, just as long as it will hold up for everyday driving and not break down on me for a long time and also hold up for just a few runs down the strip.

No problem it's ok to jack my thread. haha. Actually that was good you did that in case anyone else needed to know that info. But anyways yeah my tranny is a C4 and your right that Ford cost more than Chevy. Unfortunately. Are Daaco any good though? I can't change now since that is what he ordered and has at the shop already.

Rodder's Roundtable / Daaco Stall Converter?

I am getting a tranny built by a guy at a local tranny shop. He said he is going to use a 2200-2500 Daaco Performance or performer (can't remember which one it's called) stall converter. The only thing that I don't see right is that it's going to cost 288 bucks for it. I have been seeing people saying that they are getting their stalls for 85 bucks-100 for a Daaco. Now is this performance one better or something? I thought at first he was putting in a Coan stall but found out it's not. The guy used to drag race, etc and know's what he is talking about but just not sure on this price. He is building me a C4 for about 1000 bucks with a shift kit, stall, cooler included and installing it for me with new tranny mount, running the lines, etc. Basically will be done and ready to drive home and good to go.

Any info on this? Are these stalls any good. So far I am hearing 50/50 on them saying they are good and saying they are bad. Probably hearing more bads about them. I just dont get why it will be 288.
Thanks a lot!

Ok I see. That is what I figured since I heard someone say they didn't make 31's until early 70's. There will be no need to worry since I only have a 302 in the truck, and it's my daily driver but I just wanted to find out.
Thanks again for the help!

Hmm didn't know there were dropped spindles. Right now I have a 5X5.5 bolt pattern for the wheels so what I think I will do (since you convinced me) is wait till the winter when I am out of school for christmas break or so and don't buy my American Racing wheels yet and just buy tires and put them on these stock wheels, wait and save my money for the volare clip and THEN buy the matching bolt pattern on the wheels. I just need to find out where to get a complete one at. I plan to get power steering for about 250 bucks with the steering column, pump, bracket and steering box but I guess the Volare has that. I will probably still buy the P/S and just sell it when I switch clips. For about 800 bucks to lower the front (including parts and labor for someone to press the kingpins in, etc) with I Beams isn't worth it to me. Any idea where I can read up more on this Volare clip or any tips?
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the help guys. Guess I will have to pull them out. When putting them back in do I have to make sure I slide them in a certain way or what?
Also Sean I like your avatar. I like plane art a ton. Know of any sites that has some more of that kind of stuff?

Rodder's Roundtable / 66 Ford 9"

On my 1966 Ford F100 I have a 9 inch rear end that I am wanting to convert to disk brakes later or maybe and would like to know if I have a 28 spline or a 31 spline? Did they come in 31 spline back in 66? Reason I ask is because I have a WAR case and the hubs on the outside have the indention that goes in and I read a few sites that had pictures of the two different hubs and mine looks just like the 31 spline but then again the site said that some 28 splines look just like the 31's... Any help here please? If it's a 28 spline I am guessing no need to upgrade or what? The truck is my everyday driver and does have quite a bit of power going to it but then again not a drag truck or nothing. I want to put some kind of lockers in this thing later too.
Thanks a lot for any info, help, comments, and suggestions.

Haha nice one! I am looking at getting a Volare clip for my 66 Ford. They bolt right up and plus I want to lower the front end about 5 inches instead of 3 with crappy Twin I Beams that cost 500 bucks plus another couple hundred to relocate the tie rods, steering, etc. How do you like your Volare front clip?
