Quote from: "chopshopcustoms"Just wondering if people here are professionals (either own your own shop or work in one) or just work in your backyard on stuff.

I have a rod shop in Michigan.

Quote from: "jusjunk"the acc terminal is for tha radio and stuff when you need power and the ignition is off. The distributor should be on the ign terminal and the fan can run from there also as well as the wire to energize the alternator but if you dont have a diode in line then feed back from fan and alternator can make the car run and not shut off. a relay would work as well. I could cure the problem on my car by just moving the fan to the battery terminal but i wanted it off when i turned the engine off.. a lot of the newer cars i thought used to let the fan run till the temp switch shut em off i dunno if they still do ..
Dave

I didn't word that right. What I meant to say is don't have anything on the ign. terminal that could cause feedback from the alt.  likean  elect. fan

If the ignition wire is on the "on" terminal on the ignition switch it will keep running. Move it to the "acc" side to seperate the ignition from the alternator.
Bob

An electric fan will do the same if it's not on the acc terminal.

WHERE TO BUY YOUR USA - GAS .....GOT THIS FROM A FRIEND AND WANTED TO SEE IF YOU AGREE

WHERE TO BUY YOUR USA-GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON--
Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it.
It might even be good for us!

The Saudis are boycotting American goods.

We should return the favor.

An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.
Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell.......................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil..............130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway..117,740,000 barrels
Amoco..........................62,231,000 barrels

Citgo Gas comes from South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans.

Do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (Oil is now $90-$95 a barrel)

Here are some large companies that
DO NOT import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco................ 0 barrels
Conoco................ 0 barrels
Sinclair................ 0 barrels
BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels
Hess.................... 0 barrels
ARC0................... 0 barrels
Also: Pilot, Flying J, Love's, RaceTrac, Valero

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy
and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much
they are importing.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do.

Now, don't wimp out at this point.... keep reading and I'll
explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people.

If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and

those 300 send it to a t least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) .. and

so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people,

we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten
friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it ..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all yo u have to do is send this to

10 people. How long would all that take?

If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next eight days

Ah Ha, now I understand. Maybe you better keep the traction bars. I love those little motors that can whup on big blocks.
Cool
Bob

think turbo with a trans brake

A 63 Falcon in Tucson AZ with a turbo'd 250 cid inline 6 produced 318 hp and 500 ft lb of torque at the rear wheels.  This engine did use the newly released  all aluminum cyl head with an Aussie intake manifold.

The 63 Falcon has run 10.9's

Since I am down 50 cubic inches there will less power .... for now.

"I hope this differential holds up to the punishment from a 206 cid Ford engine and C4 trans."

I hope you meant 306 cid. If you have 206 cid the 8" is overkill and you certainly won't need those traction bars.

Those title suppliers aren't doing anything that you can't do yourself. I don't know about your state, but in Michigan, all you need to do is go to the sec of state with your vin and they will give you a title. I just went through that with a 1965 Plymouth. I got a paper from the state. All it asked for was the vin, the year, make and there was a place to sign stating I was the owner. A week later I had a title.

Rodder's Roundtable / Decal on hood of Trans AM
September 21, 2007, 02:35:41 PM
First year for the Trans Am was 1969. There is no way to repair it that I know of. If came loose it was from improper installation and the rest wil probably come loose too. I would replace it.

The original frames are very weak. I built a 37 a few years ago and used a Roadster Shop chassis. The quality and workmanship was excellent.
