I'VE GOT THE POWER!!!!!   Yes sir ,my electric is back on and the furnace is running its * off ,but thats ok.  HEAT BABY, THATS WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT.  The old saying "You don't know what you've got until you lose it" is so true.  Even after a day without power I would find myself reaching for a light switch whenever I went into a different room. DAAAAH !  We are certainly creatures of habit.
I want to thank everyone that replied to ROOSTERS post.  All of you had great and helpful replies. Definitly food for thought.
 Rooster, thanks man.
Now I have a favor to ask of all of you. Give ROOSTER a rash of * to get his hotrod back together. He missed all of last summers activities. Thanks again to all of you.

Rodder's Roundtable / electric fan temp sensor
May 01, 2005, 12:49:16 PM
Quote from: "Crosley"mine is an adjustable unit with a probe through the fins of the rad.  I have no drain on this rad.

I adjusted it to run the fan past the thermostat temp. It rarely runs at road speed, comes on at a stop. We will see what the sumer heat does to it.

First unit that has worked real well for me.

Carquest is where I bought mine.... HTR-77528 was the part number.  48 bux plus tax

Did you put it at the top or bottom of radiator

Rodder's Roundtable / electric fan temp sensor

I've run a electric fan on my car for some time. The temp sensor was mounted in the radiator top neck . As per instructions . It worked great for about 5 years before it died. No biggy, I just replaced with a new one.
The new one lasted about a year and shot craps at the HAMB drags. By-passed adj. control and have been manually working fan. I got a new one  and the instructions say to mount on backside of radiator.  Picked a spare up at a swap meet and it says to mount where drain cock is located.  Are all of these locations acceptable? I always thought the top hose area was the most accurate. What do you guys think?

Rodder's Roundtable / undercoating question
March 26, 2005, 09:55:22 AM
I would seal the seams and paint it making sure to take your time and get paint in every nook and cranny you can find.   I've even heard of some guys painting ,seal the seams and squirt it again . In that order.
Which ever way you go it will probably outlast most of us.

Go ahead and paint it with the yellow. Just close your eyes when you look at the frame. It will be black then!

Welcome RATBANDIT!    I have one word of advise. Build the car the way you want it . Not the way your "old man" wants it.    Remember, he built the '37  the way he wanted.  Let loose with your creativity and have fun.
