Rodder's Roundtable / Know when to back down!
January 31, 2006, 09:22:27 PM
Go check out the current deals on the new truck of your choice. Take your trade and get an approx. trade-in value, plus rebates, low interest loans, two week island vacations and whatever else they are offering right now. Deduct these perks from the overall cost of the new truck and present you case with this opening statement.
"I'm thinkin about sellin my truck. These people are offering me so much more that it is worth". "This may be the deal WE have been waiting for"!

Sounds "Hokey" you say?? Just give it a try. Most Gals can't pass up a good deal. After all, your opening statement didn't work so hot, now, did it??

On my '57 Bel Air, I have disc front and rear. I use a 8" dual booster/1 1/8" m/c which are chrome tuff stuff units I got from Jegs. Bout $325.00. The prop valve is for a Disc/Disc set and necessary for the CORRECT front/rear brake pressures. Master Power Brakes has the prop valve and a good tech line, as well. The other very important factor, is that these boosters need at least 16" of vaccum to function properly. Remember, vaccum storage bottles or cans, don't make or enhance vaccum. If you  don't have a min. of 16" of vaccum, don't expect great results. If you order the booster/master cyl. unit from Jeg's, make sure you specify that you want an 1 1/8" master cylinder. The unit p# is 908-2123NA, but tell them you want M/C p#908-2071NA, (1 1/8" unit) instead of the 1" unit.
If you use this combo, be sure your grille, headlights, bumpers and other front end pieces are securely fastened when you apply the brakes for the 1st time. Given you have the vaccum, you will be very happy.
Good Luck..... :D

Thats just not fair,.........satisfying customers, full filling promises and standing behind your product!
It's just not fair.
How are less reputable companies suppose to compete with that??

Hats off to McMaster-Carr,......building success on customer satisfaction.
Now, imagine that!

Rodder's Roundtable / Ball Spinner

Quote from: "Charlie Chops 1940"AND, the purpose of a bowling ball spinner would be?

To spin bowling balls of course.

Todays bowling balls are softer than they used to be, and you have to refinish them more often. Plus you can experiment with polishing or sanding to get the ball to react differently. Me it's not a big thing, but he carries a 219 average, so he refinishes his balls often. At $10 to have it done at a pro shop, it gets expensive, particularly with 4 or 5 balls.

Well, It certainly sounds like he has a lot of...........will.

Rodder's Roundtable / Harbor Freight for tools?
January 05, 2006, 10:58:35 AM
$100.00 goes a long way at Harbor frieght. I get all the small tools I might use once ir twice and throw away. Like a heat gun,(better quality than I expected), steering wheel puller, metric allen wrenchs, roll around shop stool, ect.
Things like floor jacks, tool carts, bench grinders, ect., I think the qulity is good for the hobbiest use.

My tools are very special to me, as well.
These tools were part of my divorce settlement.
It cost me a lot (read a ton) of money for me to keep my tools.
And now, how nice. Everytime I pick one up, I think of her.
