I found this bracket in my boxes of stuff.

I would think it is a p-steering pump mount bracket for that dirt common p-s pump... that was a saginaw pump?  The front section of the bracket is  cast iron which leads me to think of the 1960's.

It bolts onto the front of the block with the brace bolting to the front engine mount bolt hole.

any ideas of the year or application ?   Maybe a truck application?

Chevy truck. Short water pump. Hangs down too low to use in most cars.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Dang, never seen one of those...I had to make one for my '46 Chevy!

That looks like a early power steering pump bracket for a short water pump.
My 68 350 has a bracket that is like that for power steering but is made from stamped steel. It is made by GM.
You can look at Alan Grove bracket web site and he has one like mine that is made from stamped steel. www.alangrovecomponents.com

Click on view Catalog, then click on small block Chevy, then click on power steering.
