Looking to find better brakes to use with '37 - '41 spindles on my son Tim's Model A hiboy project without going to discs.  What I don't know is if '48 - '52 F-1 front drum brakes are the same as '53 - '56 F-100 front drum brakes.  From looking at catologs, etc. both look to be self-energizing brakes but not sure if one style is more easily adapted than the other or if the are in fact the same.  Your input please.

For all practical purposes they are the same. There are minor differences, but they use the same shoes and hardware, and bolt up the same way.

Don't mean to drag this out, but.  I have this article on swapping to F-100 brakes.  http://www.flatheadv8.org/f1brakes1.htm  So it sounds like I can use the F-1's in place of the F-100's and everything will be OkieDokie??  Is that correct?  Guess I'm a little thick this morning.
