The 350 I now have int he truck is running stock dish type pistons (+.030).  A friend has a set of freshly built never run 305 heads he would like to sell me for $100.  I know the 305 heads have a small intake valve and a small chamber.  Would using these cause any problems?  I would like to keep the compression to 9.5 or less.  Any ideas on what it would be in this particular combination?

There are several different 305 heads. Go to http://www.mortec.com/ with the casting numbers and find out which he has to sell you. Many listings will tell you the valve and chamber sizes so that you can better decide.  The 305 heads will boost compression but maybe not more than 9.5 with your dished pistons. Deck height and CCing is the only way to know for sure. Top end flow will not be as good as with decent 350 heads.

try EQ CYL HEADS they make new castings that flow well and are cast as small as 50 cc chambers. I think 305 heads would need porting to flow enough.
