...for diagnosing my performance problem. Also to Chimp who second the motion.
To refresh: 283 with 350cfm Holley 2300 2 bbl. surging on light accel.

A power valve change made a hugh difference. It was running an 8.5 with the engine making only 12" of vacuum at idle. Surfing "power valves" on the net I found one source that said to use a valve 1 or 2" below the vac. reading but the Holley site reccommended using one that is approx. half of the vac. #. So I went with a 5.5 and wallah, no more surge.

that was part of the ride... I put over 1300 miles on the bike in 20 hours that day.
