Worked on the roadster all afternoon and my oldest son finially got his bow all set up and we decided to go hunting. I was having a hell of a time with my bow and come to find out the nock pionts had moved on the string. I figured it out this morning and even lost an arrow in the back yard..    They aint cheap ya know.. Well car looked good and off to the woods we go.. I carry my bow and flashlight and my release and a 2x 3 ft piece of plywood 3/4 inch   to repair the stand im hunting in.. I make a ton of noise and get the piece layed down but it still needs a little finishing.. This plywood i was using on my folding stand yesterday and today to mix bondo on and it has fiber glass and everything on it.. I figured it would be a good week before it  would be a good hunting stand again. (get rid of the smells of the shop)... Im waiting for dark cause im sure i aint gonna see squat tonite and im looking across the corn field thinking my kid has some great cammo cause i can see the stand he is in but not him :!:  All of a sudden here he comes(the 7 point) he just keeps comming towards me :?: 40 yds  30 yds 20 yds :!:  :!:  :!: Hell with it .. I took a shot and he just ran 80 yards thru the corn and into the swamp and stopped. Im thinnin great ya dumb * ya missed again   Then he kinda jumped in the air and did a back flip :?:  :?:  :?:  Holy chit... I waited 10 minutes and yelled to my kid across the field and he came over.. I stopped him about 20 yards out and told him to walk north and ill be 10 rows down from you. All of a sudden he says dad you should see the blood :!:  :!:  Ok i went and looked .. WOW.. I said just follow me i know where he is.. Yup and what i thought was a 4 point turned out to be a 7 point... Im stoked.. but now ive got to do the butcher thing tomorrow after work........

verry nice....

loosing arrows.. hmmm....

about 30 years ago i went to a local sporting goods store... some of my buddys brothers wanted to go with me... so they jumped in the gto... when we got there i went looking for shoes.. . the other guys went over to the gun counter..  i was still close and told them to leave those guns alone.. you already have too many....so they wandered off across the store up to the far corner..  next thing i see is  one of them with a double compound bow... pulling and releasing it... twinggg. the other pulls an arrow out of the rack and pokes the empty end into his palm...  he then hands it to the FOOL with the bow...

YEP.. they look around and nobody but me can see them..  and i am too far to yell ....   but i am thinking NO!  NO! NO!  he mounts the arrow... pulls back.. slacks off, looks around ...pulls and releases.. i musta been 70 or 80 feet away and i hurd it.. nobody else did..  that big orange arrow sticking out the seam of a down sleeping bag....

i moved out the door... got to the car..  rolled the windows down.. and drove slowly through the parking lot... as soon as they saw me they broke into a run and came through the open windows head first front and back...the gto performed it's duty by laying down a teriffic tire smoke screen...

i still talk to my buddy once in a while..

his brothers were both killed in a car crash a few  weeks later...but thats another story...and much too sad to post here...
