Had a great time at the annual Kingman Air & Auto show.

Airplanes and all that goes along with it.

Planes this year, several of some types.

US - Warthog, F-18, B-25 Mitchell's, F6F Hellcat, P-51D, F8F Bearcat, C-47's, AT-6's, Boeing/Stearman biplane trainers(5), T34 Mentors, T33.
The scheduled B-17G lost two engines Friday and didn't make it.

English - Hawker Sea Fury, Fairey Battle, Spitfire, I think a Typhoon.

The car show was great, saw all the cars didn't spend too much time there because I was doing the drag race Fandango. 8)
A couple of pics for your perusal.

No one quite believed the first lineup.

One of my favorite pics.
That ain't engine smoke hazing off the tires at high gear at 82 or so.

Gotta admit, my first time on a 1/8th mile track.
Helluva long shutoff though.

Biggest diference I saw was after the launch you were so * busy you didn't have time to check oil press etc.
Not a problem, got an RPM chip in the MSD, but didn't bang up against it.
There's also an oil press safety shutoff switch.
It drops the fuel pump out at about 7-8 psi.
Course, by that time the bearings are gone and the fire started.

And there are conversion tables etc. if you want to see how you compare to 1/4 mile times.

At least I still hold the record as N/W Arizona's fastest Buick powered black 32 roadster on street tires.
The big BFG's are soft and work well.

And yeah, the rumors are true, I went straight to the local speed shop Monday morning and bought the Centerlines and slicks that had been sitting there for a couple of months.

I think some kind of bug bit me....

That looks like it would have been fun to see.
I'm heading through your area Friday to pick up another 54 Chevy wagon.  Any road problems I should look for?  I'm heading over the hill from Laughlin.

What's the B25 lining up against at the tree?

I can't think of any.
Great road and I've been down there twice since Sunday - two trailer tires got cut and came unglued.
JD at the Speed Shop spotted the first one since I wisely parked the trailer right in front of his door.

It wan't so bad and the trailer wasn't too loaded so I took it down the hill at reduced speed.
Next day, the other cut up one showed it's ugly face.
It came unglued pretty bad so so the trailers up on a jack and stand and the new tire goes on this morning.

Not sure about the B-25, but he had the worst ET of the meet.
Top end was something else though....

Cool pics, first run against a funny car  :-o

¼ Mile ET & 1/8 Mile ET Conversions

or

¼ Mile ET = (1/8 Mile ET + .22) / .655[/url]

Most car fun I've had in a while.
Driving them is great.
Especially in a place where you can let er rip.
The roadster is faster than I thought.
Never really have nailed it from a dead stop before.
Usually a 2nd or high gear roll-on on the on-ramp.

Well . . . once't there was this local doctor and his restored 390 Mustang.
He rolled her on at the on-ramp expecting to see the roadster way in the back.
Trouble was the roadster was large in the mirror and honking the horn to pass.
The doc's a cool guy, but his store-bought Mustang wouldn't cut it. :D

Don't think I told you . . . I'm heading down that way in a week or two.
Whenever the carport gets delivered to the distributor and I can pick it up.
A hundred bucks worth of gas saves five hundred in freight.
Plus . . . a mini-vacation with Sweetie.

Anyway, running down empty with the box trailer and if the car port package is about the physical size I think it is, I can tote a reasonable sized car either way.

About 3000# - 3500# max if I do a little re-arranging with some carport stuff and carry it in the bed.
Carport weights right at 1000# and the trailer still has a total capacity of 7000#.

I'd tell you what that is in KG, but then I'd have to go to Oz to have it figured out....

LOL at the doc and mustang.

In the early 1980's a couple of guys were out on Bell road in north Phoenix.  New Mustang with a dealer license plate on it. Possibly salesmen playing with the new toy

They mistakenly tried to out run my 57 chev truck I had at the time.  it was in gray primer , couple of  light surface rust through that primer.

the truck had a 1970 chevelle front suspension clip , a warm  454 , t-400  and a 9 inch ford diff....  The Mustang made plenty of noise... did not keep up with me too  well though
