Took a few pix while I was there, thought I would try my hand at "cropping for aspect ratio" so here ya go :D

had 100 cars there, some really nice ones :-o
I was suprized, since its such a small town. there were cars there from as far away as Greely CO, and Manhattan KS.

it was an interesting weekend. the gory details can be found over in the Throne room
but I did manage to come home with a "Top 25" award :D  :D
and another cool story for the next meet
I did stop by and visit with Bill, kb426 on the way home. his 32 pick up is gonna be sweet 8)  8)

if there are any "Trick My Truck" fans out there, the guy who owns the Prarie Dog truck lives in Scott City. I went to high school with him 8)
it looks even better in person than it did on the TV :-o

Nice shots.
Except the crop to aspect ratio didn't work on the 2nd set of pictures.
The car is still blue... :D  :D  :D  :0-0

For the record, it was 103 in my garage. I had just finished priming the inside of the cab in the driveway. There was no wind and 22% humidity. I had trouble with sweat rolling off me and falling on the cab. Great fun if you like summer.

i use Infanview for my resizing/cropping.

the above photos, did you crop or resize them?

when i resize there is a box that you should have checked that says something to the effect of "preserve aspect ratio".

cropping i don't do much of so i can't help you there.

I let the program do it. it did an "auto crop" to 4x6 Landscape. I figured it was alot smarter than I am

where is Ansel when ya need him :?:  :?:

I use Irfanview all the time.  I custom crop my photos manually. Bring up the picture, then click Edit, then crop. It'll give you a box that you can click off of. If the pictures comes up real large, simply downsize it using the arrows at the top.
Manually place the little crosshairs in the top left where you want to start by clicking the left mouse button and holding it down. Drag the mouse down and to the right to make the box. When you get it where you want it, let the button go.
Click on Edit again, then click on 'crop selection'. It should remove everything outside of the box you made, leaving the picture.
Then click on view. Go down to the 'resize' button and click on it. 2 boxes come up. In the right hand one there is a list of sizes. Click on '640x400', or manually change the sizes to whatever you want. It'll resize the pics automatically. Then click on File, save as, then finish.
Viola'... );b(  :D

Quote from: "EMSjunkie"I have been resizing to 550x500,

there is your problem

the 550x500 is not the same height to width ratio as the starting pic. when you resize the H to W ratio must stay the same thru all the resizing. the pics i use start at 2812x2112 then when i resize they go to 500x375.

hope that helps
