V belt length.. Get the longest vbelt you can find preferably from an old junk car that way its free. Now cut it. Wrap it around the pulleys mark the ends for length then measure the inside of the belt not the outside. Belt measurements are taken from the inside. Ive seen people use string also but with a good belt that fits the pulleys this method works every time.

Since we are talking belt tech, I assume most of you carry extra belts in the trunk, in an emergency, they can be used as a tow strap to get a car off the road.

You can also use a couple belts to pick up an engine in a junkyard.
