I was thinking earlier today(dangerous, I know), and wondered why nobody makes a stall convertor that can be turned on and off.

Don't modern lock-up convertors work off an electric impulse and have some kind of clutch inside them? I don't see why they couldn't use the same idea and make a convertor that could switch between normal operation and say, 3500rpm stall. No computer control, just a simple switch mounted on the shifter.

That would be great for Rods that pull double duty. High Stall on the strip, or normal convertor on the street. Figure it out Tony, then send me one, i'll be your guinea pig.... :D

A friend of mine has a switch pitch tranny in his Buick. Whatever it does makes a difference, but not enough for what i'm after.
