Does anyone with a Hollander know if a 56 Dodge powerflite auto will fit behind a 50 Dodge flathead six?

In a word, Yes. you may need some attaching parts to do it though.

Does "attaching parts" mean a factory adapter or spacer for the flexplate?

As long as you have all the 56 parts, they should fit the 50 block. Hollander says 49 to 59 engines will interchange. If the 56 has an adapter, the 50 will need it.
