Got the coupe fired up yesterday. Had a lot of things to come into play to make it all work. Put a oil pressure switch in line with the electric fuel pump so if the motor shuts off in a wreck or something else and the fuel pump will not be continually running. Having put this in then I needed to put in a monetary switch so I could prime the carb after setting for a time. All of those items worked well. The Centech fan switch worked great and came on at the adjustable set point (180 for the moment and off at 160) when the temp cooled down.  NO leaks from any of the fluids.  700R4  tranny pumped up and works in all gears fine after waiting 7 years from rebuild to get a shot of fresh fluid. Sure was good to smell the fumes in the garage and hear the rumble of the motor. Now its time to finish buffing parts and installing them and install the glass.

Congrats,Bob! I'm going to have to stop over and check it out next time I'm in Lincoln.By the way,any word if Americruise is coming back to Lincoln this year? It's probably been announced in the mags but I haven't had time to look

Congrats, Bob. It's always a real kick in the pants to hear an engine fire up for the first time. I still remember hearing mine on the dyno for the first time--very cool.
