Hi,
I want to pull the turbo 350 out of my 46 ford,it has a chassis engineering kit to open up the X member, and it's a close fit.(motor and tranny were put in as a unit, has anyone pulled a trany out without taking the motor out too?
I'm replacing the turbo 350 with a 200r4
I can cut the x member apart and weld it back if I need too.
any one run up aginst this?
Thanks Russ&Irene

I had a 46 ford and it was all I could do to get the trans out with the motor in place.. currently I am  working on replacing my turbo 350 in my 40 ford. both cars required that I pull the front clip and remove the motor and trans together.. I also have a chassis engineering crossmember for the trans... and a stock x member.. for what its worth i wouldnt cut the x member.. these cars need all the strength they can get..
