My fiancee bought me a day in a race car for xmas so yesterday we headed off to the track to do the deed ( 3hour drive ) the weather held off which was great
The cars are purpose built for a special series on TV and are similar to a formula 1 car with tip tronic and sizing but powered by  a 1100  motor cycle engine they do 230 kmh the people who lease them change cars for every race

They supplied everything and when i put on the racing overalls I felt two flexi strips down the back thinking this was back support I drove all day with this in the back never giving it another thought untill I took the overalls off at the end of the day and the coathanger fell out ( how embarrasing )

Well I had a blast going round right angle corners at what I would have thought was impossible speeds and each ession of laps shaved off 3 seconds finishing with a time I am really happy with

They also gave Kylie a few laps and with her Lotus racing experience she turned in a respectfull time straight off

The tiptronic down shifts were a bit tricky as you still needed the clutch but the upshifts were easy

anyone who wants to see them here is a link http://www.challengeracing.co.nz/

Neat Simon!! You'll be building one of those next.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Sean

That would be pretty fun. How fast is that in MPH?

about 140mph  roughly  100kph is 60 mph

Easiest way to get approx kph into mph is multiply by 0.6
thus 230kph is about 138mph

If being smart means knowing what I am dumb at,  I must be a genius!
