"My name is Bob Wilson, and I am a friend and co-worker of Steve's.

Steve's lovely wife Becky just called me to inform me that Steve passed away this morning. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized, but I do know that the funeral will be in Stillwater MN. I can post further details if anybody here on the board plans to attend.

Your support here at HAMB has been touching and heartwarming. Thank you all so much for rallying around a good cause and for trying to help a fellow rodder out.

Godspeed and God bless."

I am devastated to hear this, I have followed Steve's writing for over 25 years. He was one of the insperations for what I do. This is a big loss to Rodding, and to his family. Our Sympathy, and prayers.

It's a sad day indeed.

I was just browsing through some old emails I had exchanged with him.  He joined us on the old CyberCrusin RRT in August 1997.  An awfuly short time ago.

I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Steve a couple of times over the years and always enjoyed his company. His passion for rodding and his entertaining style of writing, along with his down to earth and never better than anyone else ways, will be what I remember of him. He always had a moment and a kind word for the little guys and gals in this hobby. He will surely be missed, but not forgotten.

Very sad day. No personal connection, but I have also enjoyed his journalism.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Steve, but by the comments I have been reading from all of you, his friends, he must have been a hell of a guy.

So very sorry for his family and all of you.

Of course a piece of his life will live on with you Denise.  May he RIP.

Yes, very sad news. I met Steve up at the Burlington, VT NSRA show many years ago, and he was a great guy.
