I drove my '40 Chevy to a muffler shop this morning to check on what I thought was going to be a collector gasket leak. They told me that the ticking sound I was hearing was a small crack in my Sanderson headers. These have been very good headers. They were coated on the outside and the coating has held up good. Question: Can headers be fixed? Or should I be shopping for another pair?
A street rod is a vehicle made before 1949 that is modified with modern stuff: bigger motors; newer trans; updated suspension, front & rear; a/c.
Following is a street rod plus definition: No known definition because it changes.

Have a friend that had a problem with his flange being warped. Milled it off so it was flat. This caused some areas of the welds to be machined off. He tig welded them from the inside and it didn't hurt the coating. Just depends where your crack it. They can be recoated to.
