One of the cars I am working on has an Electo-tach brand tachometer, that works off a magnetic pickup on the generator cooling fan.Anyone familiar with it? Can it be used with 12 volts? can it be triggered another way? TIA

I've never seen such an animal with that type of pickup unit.  sounds interesting

Fiest time I have seen one too. For the little info I can find, I suspect it is intended for light aircraft use.
