A fellow in the tranny dept was bent over this morning in pain.  He was saying his back hurt.

We teased him for a minute till I looked in his eyes and could see he was in a great deal of pain.  I told one of the mexicans to go get Jan .  Jan is one of the owners and she was a  nurse before entering the operation of the Hughes Performance business

The mexican comes back telling me she is in a managers meeting.   I went up and interupted / stopped the meeting.  Jan asked the fellow a few questions , then called the paramedics

Paramedics came and loaded the guy into the rescue wagon for the hospital. 4 paramedics lifted /  loaded him onto the stretcher from the chair we had him sitting in.  Man O Man was he in pain!

I have not heard anything on what they found yet.  I  was not in the area when he developed this problem. He was not lifting anything heavy, so we are not sure what happened to him or if it was un related to work.

Lets be careful out there.

Had that happen to me twice in the last 10 years.  First time, I bent over to open a box that had my new gas cooking grill inside; the second time, I bent over to open a drawer on my dresser.  First time, time and pain killers 'fixed' it; second time, it took physical therapy and exercises.  It really sux, and I'd rather be working than be off for a back problem.
I survived the Hyfrecator 2000.

I say this jokingly..... my medical  emergency training amounts to my looking at something  and saying :" I bet that hurts.... huh?"

I could see this event was not a "walk it off" type of thing after we got him sitting in the chair.

I've heard his back has been x-rayed and no obvious troubles found.
