As has already been said:  she is a real sweeeeeet ride!  Nice to have the option with the fenders.  Welcome to the RRT Doc, nice folks here.  Good luck on running down the heritage.  Cal

Thanks Cal I appreciate your kind words of welcome and I'm pleased that you like my new toy. Thanks

So far I am enjoying your forum and haven't experienced too much gunk as I have on other forums. Which is nice for a change.

Thanks to all!

Welcome! I believe I have seen your car at the Goodguys in Colorado Springs ....sounds like you're having fun!

You're correct, except when it was shown there it was owned by the previous owner, who lives just south of Denver.

I just purchased the car and now it will be shown more in and around Arizona.

It's nice to know that it is so recognizable.

Thanks

Welcome to the RRT, Doc. I hope you're staying cool down there. I hear it is a little tough given the heat right now.

Like the rest have said, nice ride! Searching for that kind of info can be fun to do. I have a friend that recently purchased a roadster that was an older build. He saw the car first and wanted it and then took his wife back with him the next time he went there and as soon as they opened up the garage door and she saw the car, she told him to buy that car and fix it up for her to drive! He said, Yes M'am! That's a car guy's dream come true! The car is a '39 Ford with a Buick grill in it and it's going to be a nice ride again one of these days.
Another friend of mine recently bought a '41 Ford Pickup that was built in the 70's and he is trying to find out more info on it.

Welcome to the RRT!

A street rod is a vehicle made before 1949 that is modified with modern stuff: bigger motors; newer trans; updated suspension, front & rear; a/c.
Following is a street rod plus definition: No known definition because it changes.

So Doc are you going to jack it backup to get the fenders on it?

I guess I might not have been reading close enough, but what are some of the details about your car?  You must have got some info from the seller.

Cool looking ride!   $$ how much?  Ball park

Never mind on the details Doc, went to your website.  Hey I'll trade you my 31 A coupe and my left nut for the Cobra!

Quote from: "The Doc"Hi Gang! I'm new to your forum and pleased to have finally found RRT.
To get things off to a good start- I need your help.

If you recognize my 33 Cabriolet, which I just bought, or can tell me anything that might lead me to the builder of this car I'd appreciate your help. I'm trying to trace down it's origin and past history. I need your help.

A little background for you- as best I know. The car, I'm told, was built by a Pro Rod Builder somewhere in Florida about 10 years ago. At some point it is supposed to have placed in the Top 25 at a big show in Pegeon Ford TN. Later to be purchased by someone in or around Oklahoma City, then sold about 2 years ago to the previous owner, Ed Cromer of Littleton, Colorado, whom I purchased the car from just recently.

I call it "Camelion" because it has been run both WITH and WITHOUT it's fenders. As shown here:

Your assistance would be MOST appreciated in tracking down it's past. Also if yuo have seen my car before and have any info, photos or etc of it I'd appreciate hearing from you.

To see more photos fo to my website http://jmichael.info/33HiBoy.htm

I wonder if you could do a CARFAX title search.   They usually list the previous owners.

I don't think my left nut will even get me close to dealing.

Maybe in a different period of my life, hopefully in the near future!
