Here are a couple of photos of my 39 Chevy 2-door in progress.  The taillights are not finished yet but I wanted to see how the lights would look in the frenched tubes.

I have some issues with the deck opener.  The kit from Downs lifts a a 32 lid fine but the 39 is bigger and in a few days I will post some drawings and ask you engineers what I can do to get a higher lift.  It has me stumped.

Mike, why don't you post some pics of the deck lid opener, the way it is set up now?
......It will give us something to ponder.

It appears you have an aluminum radiator.  ....What brand did you select?

Is it just the camera angle, or do you only have about 2" of ground clearance under the headers?

I like the way you did the tail lights!

If being smart means knowing what I am dumb at,  I must be a genius!

Bruce,
I will get some photos this weekend to show how I positioned the actuator on the deck lid.
The aluminum radiator is PRC from * at,  http://www.streetrodstuff.com/
It is a beautiful radiator and I am very pleased.  His son has the rad shop.
The ground clearance is only about 2".  But this is a bagged suspension and this is in the deflated position.  With the bags up there is pleanty of room.  Even with a flat I will clear at ride height.  Now, if I loose air and a tire, I will be in deep X!@%!!!  I think the odds are OK to risk it.

What 3rd brake light did you use!

I like what you did with the taillights. I should build something like that so I can haul the whole family around. Problem with me is by the time I finished it, the Kids would be out of the house anyway....

Denny,
The third brake light is from Watson's
www.watsons-streetworks.com

It is a flush mount LED.

Speaking of deck lid openers Ive got a few window regulators out of what i dunno but i used one on the 34 and my brother used one on his 37 for the deck lid and they work great. Maybe if i get time this weekend ill take a couple pics and post em here. You will need to make the linkage to go to the lid but its a simple job. Humm maybe a good auction item..

Sean,  That's what happened to me.  My '37 started out as a 4 door so I could haul the kids and dogs easily.  After a few years I realized they were going to be gone before I finished it so I switched to a 2 door.  They've been gone for nearly 2 years now and I'm still not quite done.  Maybe I should have done a coupe.

Mike,  The car looks great.  I love the way it sits, of course like you said you will have to raise to drive.
