Tony, I replaced all sixteen windows in my last house, which was built in 1936. I was recently divorced and bought this nice English cottage style brick house. Should've checked the windows first. I went to lower one and it fell apart.  Got them all 'custom made' at Menard's and installed them myself.  That was a learning experience as I'd never done that before, but it turned out to be fairly easy.  The old windows had the steel counter weights and ropes.  The walls also weren't insulated, so I had to go into the attic and drill holes in the top plates and blow in insulation.  I replumbed the pipes and my brother rewired the house.  Fun days.

Watched this confused geezer sit in the intersection during the whole red light.  He is further out in the intersection than the photo shows. Traffic had to swing around him.  No cars behind him , could have back up 20 feet?

The Pantera job was sitting out front when I got to work today. He brought us a heap of cookies so mainly I ate cookies all morning.

The 351 went in freshened, after paint, at home. Owner did all assembly stuff. But said he has had the engine out again since. Was drinking oil and holes measured .003 over. Overzealous honing to keep it at .030 over? They took it out to .040 and its back in but he said finding Ford lifters was a five month wait and they finally came from Lunati.

Sounded like that sucked royally. In a Mustang it would just plain suck. Rebuild redo, at the same place. Hmm. I halfway thought that shop could be trusted. The Tempest job awhile back had a 400 in it that they did.

Two door cars are history, gas engines are history, paint jobs are history. I may as well be an alien, theres no transportation for the future. My junk hangs by a thread, wow.

Hey Matt, two door trucks are beginning to be history too.  Seems they are all four doors now, with a tiny bed in back.  Looks like I'll be keeping my Tacoma for a while with its access cab.

Phil I guess its true, Grand Prixs for life is my sentence. We never will get anything better'n what we have now. Automobiles and houses are a rich man's luxuries already.

We got the last window  fully caulked this monday morning...  Re-installed the awning shade device. Done , Finished.

Now , I need to get on the interior trim work on these last 4 windows installed. THEN , my wife wants some type of mini blinds or something installed on all 7 windows.  Only temporary shade cloth on the windows for 2 yrs now. LOL

We took off to a nice activity park about 8 miles from us. Game fields, small pond, walking paths... There are BBQ , tables benches, kid play grounds... ya know : usual stuff.  We cook some burgers, sit back for a couple hours.  We have done this a couple times now.  I Guess that is a retirement activity ?

The last 2 days I have thrown away some stuff that is left over from projects or small scraps that I don't want to have to remember where they are. I haven't found anything that went missing in action, yet. :) The wife's car is back in the garage so she is happy about that.

Well done, Bill.  :)

I just knew this stick of banana wood   would come in handy for something.

I just finished watching the Speedway Motors video on the c10 that they did for SEMA. The comments about how they felt upon completion were something that most of us know about. Random thought: does the size and complexity of the project have anything to do with the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction upon completion? What say you?

Hell , these days I will stand by the front window and admire a snow free driveway when I am done ! We have not had any real snow yet so even that is not a project this year .

You'd think I'd have a reply but am drawing a blank. :blank:  Yes? Little familiarity with completion or project closure here. It was neat to tell my two fellow bodymen to go look out front at the Pantera yesterday.

Old used cars I painted for me, each worked me to death but in just a few miles all the hassle memory faded quickly. Now, out of three or five hundred work days I may hear an encouraging word but only from customers. No telling whether I do right or wrong. They are all just days.

Random thought: My car probably falls into the day two category. Leastwise year two or five. HEI is the most advanced tech on it.

Bill, I threw away/donated/sold stuff that I had for the 41 Pontiac after I sold it.  Been doing that since I sold the 63 Ford and 58 Chevy also.  Now that I'm working on the Vair, I'm finding stuff that is useless and it's being gotten rid of also.  Some of the stuff would be easier to buy when needed and spend less time looking for it.

I had another skin cancer surgery yesterday, this one on my left arm.  I wish I had signed up for frequent miles back in the late 90's with this place, I could probably fly to Hawaii by now.  We stopped at the VA clinic to drop off some books to their library, and when we parked in the parking lot, a guy came out of the clinic wearing a kilt outfit.  That's the first one I've ever seen in real life. Brrr.

I had typed up a wiring diagram - list on a spreadsheet for the 48 as I went along. This morning I re-organized it in hopes that if I need it, it will be complete enough for someone with no memory to be able to see what has been done. :) It's better than what I have done in the past by quite a bit. I find that small notes aren't of much value anymore. :)

Rent increase on my storage room where most of the tools and shop equip that I kept is located.  I moved the stuff in may 2023 to save cash and it is now 60 miles closer..

REnt went up and now they increased the insurance from $2500 to 5k  coverage.  I have no choice for the insurance. I can not delete it , or replace it with my own ins coverage.

Light rain on wednesday.. Suppose to rain heavy late thursday and friday.. LOL

I better go take a nap? Oh , wait. It is 5:10am here, I just got up at 4:00am.  I already took a drive to see where gasoline prices were this morning.  Purty eggciting life here at the moment
