I bought a set of 4 swivel wheels a couple weeks ago.. Weeks ago:  I did a quik , cheapy repair on a BBQ we have in storage.  Geez , we dont use it at the moment.  Just moving it around and the wheel mounts on the  base are snapping off, bent.  It neever rolled worth the shat anyway.

I will get it over here in a week or 2 for a full repair..  ;D

Today (Christmas) I took my IKEA quality computer desk outside. I bought some #10 - 32 screws, nutz, warshers to install full length screws to bolt this press wood , wiggly desk together.  The work helped.

I'm giving up on people.  I've had my Corvair for sale for a while, marked down to $7900.  Had a couple people look at it, one being a couple about an hour away.  No one took it for a ride, mainly because the weather was bad, although I said I didn't mind.

Well, the first guy texted me today saying he would give me $4000, and could pick it up very soon.  I told him that I've got more into than that.  He came back later and said that with Christmas and all, he was low on money, but really liked the car.  I told him he's shopping in the wrong section, and I wasn't going to sell it for less than what I've got in  it. He texted again later and said that if I change my mind to give him a call.  Hey dude, I'm sorry you don't have enough money, so quit bugging me.

My wife told me that she was selling a car once for $3000, and a woman called and said that all she had was $1000. Sorry, no go there, either.

A couple weeks ago, I bought a DVR at a moving sale, thinking it was for tv. Nope, for a camera system.  Brand new, and I paid $5 for it.  I put it on ebay for $5, just in case someone needed it.  I got an offer today for $4.02.

I spent the last two days installing new LED ceiling lights in the basement suspended ceilings and replacing the ceiling tiles in my wife's office.  I'm going to donate the old T8 and T12 light fixtures to Habitat for Humanity.  Guess I'll take the DVR with me and donate it too.

Phil, it is the same everywhere the last 15 yrs. People offer half of the asking price.

Selling my 83 Monte Carlo yrs back.. asking $3800.. ppl call to offer 1500 ,maybe 1600.. One PITA guy like your guy.. I called him a flipper & told him I was tired of his shat offers.

That guy came out, looked, drove it, bought the Monte for 3200.00

Yeah, Tony, I get that, but I  had already told him that I've got more into it than he offered, and he still thought I would come down to meet his price.  Geez.

I took the old lights and a box full of fluorescent bulbs to H4H today.  Both places were closed until Jan.2nd.  Goodwill was happy to take them.

Yuuuuup. Us "seasoned" car guys have heard most of "it" 1 or 5 times.  Even when I go to swap meets selling in recent years.  I call out the flippers that try to BS me on parts they "need" ... :o  I know the regular flippers and I dont allow them to set price on anything I have.  Or those guys that watch you thru the day till you load up and they try to  get some left overs for next to nothing.

But then , I am rambling on here.

I mostly go to swap meets now just to catch up with seldom seen friends.

Have a guy right now bugging me about my roadster chassis . Wants to know how low i will go . I say we can deal in person once you have seen it . He lives 4 hours away . I give him a lower price that I can take and he texts back that he is trying to justify the price . I have given him my phone number but he continues to text instead .  ::)

Quik note, reminder of scams around.

We saw my brother yesterday at a funeral. He tells me his wife fell for a phishing email scam about Publishers Clearing House.  She believed that a $150 million dollar prize was hers, BUT she needed to purchase a few items first. Cell phones, gift cards, etc.. that type of crap.  ::)

The funeral was not the place to discuss this but he mentioned that it looks like 10k $$ is involved !

I have known my sister in law for 55 years. She has always been gullible.  Her mind started slipping a few years ago. My brother and I "had the conversation" about locking down his bank accounts. I dont know what he did or did not do..

His daughter is in town and she is going to the bank today with her dad. She is a sharp kid (41 yr old) ... Her and I had a conversation about this. We dont know where the 10k $$ came from or what. My brother does Not have that kind of cash on hand.

Sounds like someone has been watching Fast 'N Loud. That was always the pattern for Richard Rawlings, to offer half price on everything as an opener. It was all fake, of course, they wouldn't waste time paying a TV crew unless they already bought the car. Everything they did on that show gave the wrong impression of how cars should be done. On at least one episode they even laughed at the crap car they palmed off on a customer.

I'm looking at more ready-to-spray square footage than I think I've ever seen. Rest of the F-1 job, and the whole 69GT job is in booth ready for main color but we don't yet know what color to make.

Model A guy was by today but grew a beard so I didn't recognize him at first. He hadn't seen it since before it had an interior. Still loves playing with the gas flap. It's computer and TB still aren't talking so hood sides aren't on it yet.

I got a tankful of bad gas on the 21st which resulted in suprise flashing check engine light going 110 down the interstate Christmas morning. Clattering like crazy. CEL went off though, left pending misfire code on #3 so at first I thought ignition. Had it down to half a tank before bad gas dawned on me. Topped it off elsewhere. Problem is about half as bad now. Clatters above half boost. So I'll head into the new year on reduced performance yay! :)

Hope it ain't hurt. But everything ignition is over 100K miles.

I repaired this BBQ a few months back I thought.  Weak mounted swivel wheels on it.  THe base platform metal of the BBQ is thin and does not help keep the wheels in correct angle.

Today I took the base off the BBQ...  I added a couple layers of cedar wood to space the wheels down some so the wheels I bought could swivel.  The BBQ rolls waaay better now, seems more sturdy too.

A polished a quarter and then I super glued it to the shop floor right inside the walk in door.  Some would say I have an odd sense of humor.  :)  The age of the people who come through that door should make for some interesting sites along with some R rated language.

John, that interesting.  Just yesterday, my wife and I were cleaning/straightening our areas in the basement, and she came across a letter opener that had belonged to her dad.  It had a clear handle with a quarter, nickel, dime and a penny in it, all dated 1958 or 1959.  I broke the handle and removed the 41 cents, which look like uncirculated coins.  I said that she should put them on ebay.

I figured out that I somehow use an A rather than the intended I to begin the sentence at the start of my post.  I reread that post several times and somehow I missed that error but it was apparent as soon as I reread it now.  Old age dyslexic I guess

I could not get the photo to post earlier but now it seems to work.  This machine can drive you crazy.

Back in 1968 or 69 in high school.. I got the wise idea to take some pennies and I coated them in solder so they looked like dimes.

In one of the open areas of the school, I tossed out on the concrete 8 to 10 of these pennies and sat down to watch what if anything would happen.  People picked most of them up. Some put them in their pockets not slowing as they walked. Others picked the pennies up and looked at them, then tossed them back to the ground.

I spent several hours today machining some very simple bases for outside mirrors. Next time I have the project in the shop, I will see if my idea bears merit. Maybe back to plan A. :)
