In Australia fenders are required. Some of the guys make fiberglass fenders with a tire tread to pass the rules.

O&S is making a tiny bit of progress. I started off by cutting pieces of foam and gluing them into the areas where the oem upholstery had velcro. I glued a layer of similar density foam to smooth everything up. I used the belt sander to trim up the edges. I have the seating surface rough cut and glued to scrim sew. I have to decide on a pattern to sew in the seating area and then cut the sides and start sewing. I needed more time to decide on the pattern so I stopped for the day. O&S at it's finest. LOL.

I have a bench seat from a caravan in my coupe . There is some sculpting of the seats with reliefs cut in . I was wondering if a guy could do what you are doing to get the seats back to flat . From what you are showing, it will work . Thanks for sharing .

O&S reached a stopping point a little bit ago. The pics are of the covers loosely laid in place. I still need to sew a panel at the bottom of every cover to reach around to the rear for attachment. I have some plastic channel that I believe my sewing machine can handle that will be what I use for attaching points. More hours. :)

O&S made a little progress. The backs are ready to bolt on. One pic is of the arrangement that I did to make the sides removable in case I can't get all of the fasteners in. I have the channels sewed on the bases and the attaching parts ready for installing the bases in the truck. If the weather cooperates, that will be tomorrows task. The color on the material where the sewing was done is marking chalk. I will have to clean it off upon completion. Nothing about this is professional, just good enough to do the job. :)

O&S stopping point for the day. There's small stuff that needs to be addressed but I think I'm going to make a road trip to see if I have oh wow or oh no. LOL.

Another efi update. After retiming the cam sensor, the hiccup was better but still there. yesterday, I dug out the H.F. fuel injection pressure gauge. I checked the system and it was low right at 5 psi. I pulled the fuel pump and replaced the hard nylon line with efi hose. I rechecked and now I have 40psi under throttle. It should be 41. As I remember, there should be about 4lbs. difference from idle to full throttle. I have 8 psi difference. The truck will hiccup under light load but if you open the throttle just a little, it richens up and quits. I have 2 options: either I have the incorrect regulator or the spring has lost it's tension over 28 years. :) I'm about to order another regulator. I had a tough time getting the pump into the hard nylon line and it appears that I didn't have 100% sealing. That was 9 months ago. LOL. I didn't trust the H.F, gauge but I connected an apparatus with an air regulator and it checked out as accurate so I will go with those numbers. I do believe I'm about to get it. :)

Sounds like you're about there. A lot of little things.

I gained a little knowledge this am. After I installed that efi hose, it crossed my mind that it may not be suitable for immersion. That turned out to be correct. Gates and Dayco make immersion hose. I connected the pressure gauge and exp. some more. The system will run 41psi with the vacuum hose disconnected. I used my mitevac and raised the vacuum up in steps all the way to 20". The system pressure kept dropping. There is no limiter on this regulator. The engine pulls a steady 18" at idle. So it appears I have more vacuum at cruising rpm which is 1850 at 68 mph than the system needs. Before I order another regulator, I'm going to do some more research to see if there's a way to check the spring tension in a regulator. ????? :)

O&S is tinkering. If I accomplished something, I would name it something else. After doing some thinking, I realize that all of the aftermarket fuel pumps setups don't have hose on them. I have used what was left of the hard nylon hose and machined an adapter to connect the pieces. I have tried some other options but this seems to be the most durable. The hard nylon is metric so I machined the adapter to metric numbers. I purchased a new fuel regulator. I installed it and checked pressure and it was 6 lbs. less than the best one I had used. I took it off and put the other unit back on. Yesterday, I installed the new regulator and went for a drive. It worked very similar to the unit that had made the truck run better. I reinstalled the best one that I had and have decided that I'm looking in the wrong place. I have double checked everything that I can think off and I'm not solving the problem. Back to more thinking. Did I mention that I seem to have no brain power? LOL.

I spent some time messing with the possibility of front fenders today. The lack of clearance has made this to be a non-option. If I trim the fender back for clearance, I'm not sure it will keep residue off from the windshield which was my goal. I'm considering a lexan wing mounted to a side panel to accomplish that. The residue that hits the windshield is probably tossed higher up in the rotation of the wheel so a partial fender on the rear on the wheel would have little effect in curtailing the debris. More research is ahead. I may end up finding a wet area to drive through and have someone film it so I can see the trajectory of debris coming form the tire. After typing that, it seems to make sense. :)
