its 84*F here today.

Warsh the vehicles day. Warshed the F350 truck.  Warshed the RV 5th wheel. About 40% of the RV has been waxed by hand.  Guys here want 10 dollars a foot to wash & wax. That is 400 dollars for this RV.  Since I am a cheap bast**D , the wife and I are waxing the RV..  I wax, she follows me as the wax drys.  I use a Meguiars wax for marine use.  Suppose to be good stuff?

Weather guessers say rain is here on sunday.  Yippie!

We continue on with waxing the RV.. Only a few hours in the morning and a few in the afternoon is the work schedule. I have grown tired of climbing the ladder dozens of times a day.

Mercs didn't have the clean lines of the Fords.

Got a marketing piece of mail the other day for a hearing aid company in a city I used to live near, about 40 miles away.  Since my current guy isn't getting my HA's programmed correctly, I called and made an appt. just to see what she had to say about them. VERY knowledgeable young woman, who BTW, used to work for Phonak gave me the lowdown on the ones I have now, Unitrons.  She said Unitrons aren't the greatest for high pitch and feedback, that Phonak is way better (she sells both).  We also found out that she has much newer testing/connecting equipment, and that the "newest" ones I already have are a generation older already.  I'll be contacting my 'old guy' next week for a return/refund, and go to her to get the latest Phonak's with much better Iphone control.

Tony, I've owned my Tacoma since '17, and I've only waxed it once.  Don't like doing that like I used to. Have fun.

I rolled in to Costco for another adjustment on my hearing aids last week.. 2 weeks ago In the evening I noticed a slight whine , squeeky noise. I actually thought the new ceiling fan was making the noise. I walked to the bedroom and the noise was still there.  I asked my wife if the fan was making noise, she responded: No.

I put my aids into the restaurant program and the noise was gone. TV program and the noise returned.

last week the gal made a couple changes. Lowered the base setting for volume when the aids are first turned on. I have open fit domes for my ears now. The closed dome style were creating so much internal noise with my ears closed off from outside input. I am much happier with these aids now.

People that do not wear or need hearing aids dont "get it" as to how it's such a PITA to deal with.  My brother wears his aids at work , not at home. Every 3rd to 4th word from him is "what?" when we are talking. He can not afford better quality aids. He has some 400 dollar aids from some place. They cut in & out he says.

The woman that checked my HA's yesterday said that Unitron has less control over high end sound and feedback, even though made by the same company as Phonak.  She put her hand next to my left ear, and she and my wife both heard feedback, though I didn't.  I DO hear it on the right side though.  She also said that one of them has too much power, and that's what's causing the buzzy sound I hear when I speak, or listen to others. She turned off the right side from her computer and asked how it sounded. I asked if my left side was still on, as the buzzing quit. My present 'tech' sent these in to be fixed a couple weeks ago, as that was the same problem I was having then, and still am.  WTH?

I'm calling him this next week to tell him I'm returning them for a refund, then go to her to get the newest Phonak's.  The new Phonak's cell phone app has way more control than the Unitron.

Looks like another sunny and 75 day. :)  I'll go for a spin :)  And reflect upon the internet years. Unfortunately a problem user has polluted the last clear stream in forum territory and that wipes out my species. A web environment I can exist in no longer exists. Poof!  :blank:

This started a while back when I was thinking about the purchase of a golf cart...   Looking on Craigs List.

There are a number of spammers there. From puppies to golf carts and more. They post images of nice expensive golf carts for 600 to 1,000 dollars.  I spend a few minutes each day finding and flagging the obvious spam ads.

A few ppl have posted in the Craigs List ads for puppies that show the spammer ads warning ppl about them.

WZ JUNK

I am continuing work on modifying the one piece front end for the WZ JUNK truck.  Originally I built the front end to slide forward and then tilt.  It worked, but not good, and the bumper bottom out on the ground before the front was fully open.  I removed the sliding mechanism and built a new set of hinges with a different pivot point.  That took several tries but I finally found the sweet spot.

Lately I have been working on the device that will limit how far the front will open.  It looks simple but it was not.   Lots of angles to deal with and the arms that fold had to be different lengths but it works.  I will have a removable pin to keep it open on windy days but I do not think I will need it as the weight of the front end should keep it open.  You should be able to see in the photo how the arm folds when the hood closes.

Now I will go back to rear of the assembly where it fits to the cowl.  I have the preliminary work done but I need to finish up some loose ends.

After 10 years of finishing the upholstery in the coupe I finally decided to put the trim strips in the door panels. I originally made the recesses in the doors for the trim but couldn't figure out what to use. Stainless was way to expensive to have some made by a company. Finally decided to use some 1/4" half round aluminum. Made a jig and slowly bent the radius I needed. Tapped a 6/32" hole in the back and epoxied them in. Took a tapered tap and ground it down to make a bottom tap. Picture shows what little room I had to do that. Had some left over so I made three bars to balance out the dash. No one local has any material so I bought it from Orange Metal in California. Two dollars a piece for 6' pieces and $18 for shipping.
