Ouch! He asked about painting the car after he purchased it. Now he has a reason. :)

Fired up Josh's 65 Buick today, there is a noise in the transmission >:( It sounds like a parking brake pawl slipping. We didn't run it long, until the noise is diagnosed it will set again.

Yesterday I took the Jeepster  down to a neighboring town about 20 miles away. They were having a "Cruise In" that consisted of sitting in a lawn chair by your car and waiting for them to call you number for a door prize. It was way over my head so I parked in the grass next door, looked around and quietly left. I'm daring to take the Jeepster a little further each time and getting use to it's little quirks but nothing bothers me enough to stop and invest the time to fix it. I installed gauges because none of the S15's gauges work but the engine's compute relies on another set of senders. The fuel gauge isn't working either and I might get a gauge for it too. The speedo isn't working but it's mechanical and I've been to lazy to see if the cable is broke. I figure all the dash board problems are power to it because none of the dash lights work either. that the biggest bother right now because the turn signal lights aren't cancelling after a left turn. As noisy as this car is I can't hear if they are still going. I seem to remember someone else spending a lot of time with the same type of problem and the fix was easy once he thought of it. Well there are at least three more car shows before our cruise and I can always park at the curb. GPster

I swept an area of the shop and the next morning I found this.  I must have a guest that I was unaware of.  I will have to look out for him.

Guess I should finish out the weight deal on my truck and RV..  Truck weight is 8700. That is with me and the wife in the truck as we drive down the road.  About half tank (24 gal) of fuel.

That means the RV is putting 3760 lbs onto the truck. Seems like a lot of weight. It is well with in the truck weight ratings per Ford.

We put over 7100 miles on the truck during the road trip. It pulls like an animal. I have no real complaints with the truck.

Matt, what does the 55 get for a name? Has somebody come up with something clever?

We fired up Josh's 65 Buick yesterday, and broke in the cam. I still have to do the final timing and set the idle.

55 looks awesome . I spent some time fixing my 04 silverado. Gages went south , was doing 110MPH in the driveway and oil pressure was off the scale ! Did I mention how much I hate soldering ?

Just watching the news, they closed all the entrances to Yellowstone park.  Lots of flooding in South Central and South East Montana.    Also talking that Glacier might get get a couple of feet of snow.  Wonder if they will even get Going to the Sun road open this year.  High 80s and low 90s later in the week.

We were in the high 90's today, and it's supposed to cool down by Saturday.  That's good, as my stepson is getting married Saturday.

We decided that we wont' be riding our bicycles any longer, so I dragged them out of the storage shed to clean them up.  Hers had a flat tire, so I took it in the shop and removed the tube and found the leak right at the base of the valve stem.  Okay, new tube needed.  I aired up the tires on my bike, and after a couple minutes, I heard a splitting sound. I looked at the rear tire and saw the sidewall splitting open, then the tube came out and exploded.  Okay, new tire AND tube on that one.  Went to Walmart and got the stuff needed and fixed the tires and got them all cleaned up, and pictures taken.  I'll list them next week as we'll be busy this weekend.

Google Red Lodge Montana and Gardiner Montana which are 2 entrances to Yellowstone Park.  There are many videos out there showing the flooding and road damage.  Pretty scary.

How is it in your area, Doug?  My paternal grandparents lived outside of Red Lodge in the 50's.  I remember being there only once.
