Light bulb contact

I mentioned the other day that I could not find any light bulb contacts for tail light sockets. In most cases I just use brass pop rivets but in this case an 1/8" rivet was too large to work in these sockets. So what I did was get some brass tubing of the right size to fit these sockets, and made a steel die to form a head on short pieces of tubing. I then crimped them on the wire with an old crimper that I have that crimps all four sides at once. As the finishing touch I silver soldered a convex head on them after crimping.

NAPA used to have pigtails for that...

Looks to me like a longer lasting solution to a pesky little resto trouble area that tends to get a guy pulled over.

Please develop some bulbs that aren't junk now. :)

I do however find it funny that you said "could not find" and then posted a picture of your bench.....    :lol:  :lol:
