Wow , just amazing...

this chevy dealer near us is an Autonation Dealer and  has cars spaced double and triple apart.  Couple sections of the lot has zero cars on them. Very noticeable and the dealer is on a corner lot of major roads in Gilbert. Val Vista and Pecos rds.

I got a chunk of metal in my eye again.  I do not know how or when it got there.  But it started hurting late in the evening a couple of days ago.  The doctor removed it and I have a temporary contact lens like bandaid. Currently I am on a daily visit to the doctor.  I am really sensitive to light now.  It is healing okay and I should be back to abnormal soon.

I was cutting away a trailer hitch for a neighbor the day I got hurt.  Just a good neighbor job. He wanted a new hitch for his trailer.  It was a difficult one to remove and it was out in the sun on a really hot day.  I did have my glasses on.  I think the metal got in there when I showered at the end of the day and I washed it into my eye as I showered.  I think I am going to quit taking showers  :D

Both sons and I went to Bontrager's surplus today. Dave bought a brand new aluminum wheel for his trailer for $50, and a replacement door latch for one of his cabinets that was broken by a visitor.  Frank picked up some hardware, and latches to hold his trailer doors open. I bought some rivets and screws by the pound, a pair of large tail light lenses I intends to cut down for a project, and new three point retractable seat belts with the adjustable should harness mount for $12 each. Plus we got to bond again. :D

Went to an estate sale today and passed on a NIB counter top sand blast cabinet. Looked like a HF one that sells for $130; he wanted $40. I'm tired of messing with buyers on MP. We also stopped at an antique store, and I passed on a 6' tall traffic light with 12" lenses. Red, yellow, green and two left turn arrows. $50. He was clearing out his stall and said he had his Mercedes and not his truck, so stuff he couldn't haul was going cheap. Plastic body with metal fronts. If I was still on ebay, I could make that $50 easily for just the lens.

I quit ebay; didn't want to give them my checking acct. number.

I was backing off from selling eBay as the new rules were coming out. Plus I was getting down to nothing to sell. LOL

A couple months earlier I stopped giving feedback on sales.  I noticed I was not receiving any type of feedback from buyers. The last 25 to 30 sales I received only 3 feedback. One guy was in Ukraine. He has a forwarding company in New York he has stuff shipped to.

A long time friend still watches Craigs Lists daily for deals , stuff to flip. His recent "deal" he bought is a Jazzi mobile scooter. It is 4 yrs old and looks new. The battery(s) are dead in it. Paid 100 dollars for it. I dont have the eye for buyin &  flippin stuff anymore. I will buy what I like and usually that is not popular or easy to flip.

I got an invitation to participate in Hot Rod Drag Week today.  I do not think I will be able to take part in that event but I am on the list to enter Rocky Mountain Race Week 2.0 which is the week following Hot Rod Drag Week. The Rocky Mountain Race Week event makes more sense because it will be much closer to home for me.  We will see what develops.

Do new A/C compressors come filled with oil?

Can damaged schraeder valves in A/C service ports be replaced?

Generally yes. But it doesn't hurt to check.

You can replace Schrader valves in AC. They use a different type of seal than those intended for tires, and may also be a larger size than the ones in tires.

Thanks. Ever needed a torch to get one out?

It should screw out just like a tire valve. Don't use a torch with refrigerant. IIRC, it makes a deadly gas. I believe R12 made phosgene gas?

Agreed, caution is due anywhere a compressed gas is present. The valve in question is damaged.

I never handled R12 but was standing nearby when a friend had overcharged his Dad's newish '81 Chevy long wide and was slowly venting some. The 305 started stumbling and we all looked at one another puzzled for a few seconds before he goes "Oh." and stepped away from the air intake behind the grille. We chuckled and the memory stuck. I bet the pellet converter didn't like it no better'n that SBC did. :-o

The technician attached to the A/C machine I'm trying to work with thought I was talking about antifreeze when I asked about PAG oil, so...
