I oredered an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake Tuesday and got it today, Thursday, about 36 hours later! But. When I test fit it to the engine, a 383 stroker SBC, the valve covers won't go back on, they touch the intake. Edelbrock heads, intake and cast valve covers. Anyone ever run into this?

Yup ,tall port intake and heads . I would clearance the valve covers. Had that on a victor jr. intake and recently with a strip dominator

You could also stack v c gaskets if you don't want to get out the grinder on new shiny stuff!

I might try putting both the gaskets I have on one side and see. It looks like it would be easy to hit the edge of the intake with a disc sander....but the valve covers are WAY cheaper if I screw up! 😄
