Question-Main Bearing Caps

can you reuse main bearing caps from one block to another? like 4 bolt main caps from a 350 chevy to another 350. used caps not new. thanks, Larry

YESBUT! you still need to line bore it, possibly more. Some times the caps aren't wide enough to fit in the recess in another block, so the sides if the caps have to be welded up and ground to fit the "new" block. Some two bolt blocks can't be converted to four bolt because there is not enough meat in the outer bolt locations to drill and tap the new holes.
