(medicine) The pattern of distribution of hair upon the pubic mound.
A marking upon the back of a cow's udder and the space above it (the perineum), formed by the hair growing upward or outward instead of downward. It was once taken as an index of milking qualities.

A decorative and/or protective plate or bezel to fill the gap between a switch, pipe, valve, control knob, etc., and the surface from which it protrudes.

Quote from: "58 Yeoman"Well, geez Frank, if I'd have known you wanted ALL the definitions...

No, that's not it. I just thought the medical definition was pretty cool.  Looking it up took me down a rabbit hole that ended up kind of interesting.

have to agree... the discussion on the Nissan Leaf in a different thread...  started me reading on the Leaf , design updates, mistakes Nissan made on the battery design or lack of design, no battery cooling system..

I fizzled on that discussion but have long wondered juuust how much pedaling with the right gearing is enough to run an electric 20 miles. Exploring that seems like a step in the right direction but it might be one of those mysterious disappearance if you mention it things. Y'know. But Leaf drivers might go home and ride an exercise bike for an hour, and if the car had hand brakes like a bike you could pedal all during the drive. Certainly not a retirement-oriented idea but... aaaah. We can call this flight hijacked for sure, anyhow. I did not readily produce any valid escutcheolary wisecracks therefore I secede graceful-like.

If you are working there, the standards can't be that high.
