What gear lube?

Any one have any recommendations for the correct gear oil to put in a rebuilt S-10 Blazer rearend with the gov-lock  setup?  Any in put would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Seems to me that you use the regular 80/90 gear lube, but there is a modifier that is sold at GM dealers for the posi gears Now this is a few years ago, so things may be different now.

the gov lock unit does not use frictions like a posi type differential.  Regular gear lube should work well.  Dyno oil or syn oil

 One of my 4x4's..gov lock on back..regular on front. I was just going to stuff syn in it..RTFM Rear calls for syn..says NOT to use syn in the front as it will attack the plastic collar on the seal and cause it to leak.
