I used to hear that I make it look easy. I reckon those days are gone. :(

Forgot part.

With all wheels "centered" by eye, I then bolted boards to fenders and let the bolts pull the parts together. Now all but one bolt goes in the RR fender and that one almost does. Centering appears unaffected so board / fenders assembly is then clamped to bedside and cowl at bottom since theres a little twist in the damaged board perhaps. To make it sit right without all bolts in yet. Insert that before pulling it outside. Both sides, fenders and boards came together fairly readily and everything low is sturdy and lined up. I want that good foundation but it just doesn't mean diddly squat, cosmetics reign.

I read and understood what you said. I was pointing out the rear fenders needed to be raised in the rear because as the fender comes up pivoting at the running board the front gap to the tire will get wider, and the rear gap to the tire will get narrower and may be enough to center the tire better..

While we are at It looks like if you raise the core support some, that will pull the back of your front fenders in, which I recall you mentioning the other day. It will also raise the detail line in the fender to a more level position, which will align it better with the rear one so the rear fender doesn't look so droopy. It will also take the pressure off the hood latch.

In my opinion the rest of the truck looks pretty good. It would seem to me drilling new mount holes in the cab would be easier than redoing the frame, but that is just my opinion.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Did I not say that the fenders need to come up in the back?  If I did, that means I must be aware of that fact.

I see more than that. Moving the rear fender may level the line but not align it with the front one.

The procedure as I see it is level the rear fender line, set fender height to match board. Level front fender line. Set core support height to align that with rear fender line. Keep rockers level while setting cab mount heights.

Pray the hood can still be made to fit.

Where did the idea of modifying the frame come from?

The front bolt holes could be moved but so could the bracket

The brackets can all be set to a correct height once established

Fore/aft is yes, just new bolt holes in floor.

What has everyone thinking I am that bad stupid?

Moving the cab 2" requires reworking the rear floor brace since the bolts go in the ditch down the center of it. New holes may not go through the brace at all.

I just got through explaining where the day ended.

The next step is to find what lines up the character lines.

That can't be done well indoors and certainly not by me while I am adjusting the core support bracket

As I said, I set that just where it didn't seesaw anymore.

The pictures were my first look since leveling bed to frame

The pictures were taken at end of day.

I know why the latch is jammed and thought I told that, and that it is inadequate in size and has been repaired poorly.

Singing to the choir is mostly what I hear and thats fine.

But you mentioned improving the centering of the rear wheel. Is it not centered? Do you need more angles?

Saturday morning Matt detects an air of frustration.

So everbody knows, Frank above all, RRT critique from any member is an asset to me. If what I put on paper is too gritty, you guys know a little usage helps wear me down to more tolerable.

Sunny yellow nice family place and there I go snipping at the hand that treats me nice    Wheres that other thread I got frustrated on, I may go back and see if its worse, maybe switch back. To make myself feel better or something. But I want to lay this issue wide open so learning can flow both ways.

Body positioning on old brown bottom Fords may lead to madness as you might already have found on your projects. But in the interest of well, yknow... stuff I finally made this poster out of a finger high doodle from last year. Frank I had ten colored pencils in my hand when I got done. Hope that buys me one night of barking at the fence. :)

That'd be a T roadster, yellow metal rad, Just trips with dragmasters on a gold anodized stuff and 2" long white zoomies fire breathin' hemi Cragar SST yankin clutch dump in the driveway. Better turn around and go get your hat.

I did something wrong here, hence the posting halt. Breaking the forum habit is good though and regardless of my actions people are going to think what they do. I'll just mind my own biz. Heres the facts for the handful who may wonder.

The F1 left the building. Over the weekend I told boss two more days should finish it. He read it as 2 hours and now theres a tree hit '15 Silverado in my stall and at five til five yesterday I found out Mom tested positive for covid. Dad testing today but their 2nd shots will have to wait and if he is also positive...

Well I finished that Model A painting.

I hope your parents are going to be OK. This crap is dangerous as hell. I just lost my oldest friend ( we met when I was 16) to complications due to covid

Glad to see ya back Matt! I do hope the parents will be OK.  I am a week from my second Covid shot so I am playing it Kool..  8)

Hi guys. Mom's symptoms are waning and Dad feels OK but will not be tested because both are quarantined until the health dep't notifies them around the 21st. They put up a wall around my stall at work but this is five days since I visited the folks briefly and I seem normal as does my brother. Sunday before last, Mom sent a joyful pic of their triumphant holding of all mask free worship services. Faith may have jumped the gun there I reckon. I am mighty thankful Dad seems clear because in his mind that diagnosis is pretty much a death sentence at his age. I have been and will think about them a lot, the pandemic has been hard on them mentally. Mainly worrying about their young'uns. :)

It could get difficult for them. Dad got snazzy new hearing aids last week so I know you all mostly know how that goes. They may need to conk out inexplicably.

I just haven't been taking pictures lately. Not gonna try anymore. Maybe. Sometimes. If its cool enough and I want to. Just being like the rest of you, no cause for alarm. I also am Kool and am just applying energy previously squandered by default to more appropriate applications, as is my right. I haven't taken anything from anyone and participation is an at-will affair. I can dig it.

Thanks for your concern and encouragement, and patience.

Sure glad to hear your parents are holding up OK, and I hope it stays that way.

As for participation, I enjoy whatever you see fit to put up. A lot or a little. At your will.

Well!  :-o

Looky there!  :!:

I like it. Ignore the kardboard konsole and klunky korners of the dash.

Been in there a week, hell I didn't know. I am well pleased with what Mike did there. Just right with the fiberglass 56 dash. Seats are late GTO mockups. Big.

That was worth posting sure enough. :)

IS the dash and grille the only components of a 56 to be incorporated?
