Hey Guys ....I can't remember if anyone put this out there yet .....Kidde is recalling almost all of their fire extinguisher's that have plastic handles ...The recall covers models back to 1973....
We all have these in our homes & cars ...Check the site & follow the instructions ....

5 of the 7 extinguishers I own are recalled ....

Sounds like you'd better start buying a better brand, Bob.

I've got a dozen extinguishers, and only two are Kidde, and they're going to replace them both. Of course, when I was still working, we'd get fire extinguishers as safety awards, so I have a lot of Amerex and Ansul. I even have one Fuller Brush Co. extinguisher. I must've bought that one at a garage sale.

I buy the cheap ones at sales for a couple bucks so I can show my wife how to put out fires. We had training every year at work. Luckily, she hasn't had to use one yet.

Thanks, Bob.

Whoda thunk?? I did find it on the list, and they'll be sending me another one. That makes three. LOL. I didn't pay more than $5 each at sales.

Okay, Bob, if we ever cross paths, I owe you one. 8)

Thanks Bob. I've got probably 10 to 12 extinguishers and I think they're all qualifying Kidde's...at least the 3 here at the cabin are.

IIRC, I should be getting 5 replacement extinguishers. The first two arrived today by FedEx. Remove the new ones from the shipping box, and product box. Put old ones in both boxes and affix supplied shipping label. Then call FedEx and tell them you have a hazardous pick up at your house.  Metal valves on top.

I have 2 fire extinguishers of Kidde brand.

Both have metal handles , appear to be aluminum.

I received #3 today, considerably larger than the others. ABC. I couldn't get through to a FedEx agent this time, had to use the dumb puter voice thing.

Hat's off to Kidde company, I had 3 extinguishers I bought 42 years ago and they were on the recall list.
Sent in my request and yesterday I received 5 new extinguishers from FedX.
Called them and told them of their error,  they said to keep the 2 extra, Marry Christmas.
A fine company.
Some people try to turn back their odometers
Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren\'t paved.

Only had one Kidde extinguisher that was in a camping trailer.  Registered it on line.  Kidde sent out three replacements.  Called them about  the error and they said keep them, cheaper for them than having them sent back.

Thanks Bob, called today and there sending my replacements out in a couple of weeks. I'll be replacing with HalGuard, little expensive but no residue.

I had one on the list and they said new one coming.  A couple of weeks later they sent a second survey and when I filled it out, my extinguisher was not on the list.  The new one arrived the next day anyway.
