Quick and dirty mods. I made a "raincap" for the air cleaner. I wasn't comfortable with the exposed air filter in my world. Rain showers, wind and dirt, just go on. This will protect the engine until the next owner or a hood, which ever occurs 1st. The tailpipes were transmitting vibration at idle strongly. I installed another mount and they have a piece of rubber for an insulator. This is all used parts left over from the f150 or scraps of sheet metal. :) Idle is much quieter now. :)

I believe this will be the last update on this thread. I sold this on ebay saturday. I've been paid and the buyer has made arrangements to have it picked up next week. Each week there are about 400 hot rods on ebay. 1 or 2 sell. I let it go cheap so it would be gone. I'm about to start another project, I just haven't decided which one is next. :)

I bought a set of henry steel front and rear fenders rust free and near paint ready in December. All I need to do is make a hood and I am all done with acquiring tin .

just trying to get the ball rolling with this project . I am slow at best with bodywork and I found steel at a reasonable cost . brake system is just about finished then it stops and steers , drivetrain is all set in . there are a bunch of details to address with the body with the doors and trunk yet . everything in driveline needs rebuilding but that is just turning wrenches, most of the parts I already have . The planning and problem solving parts are almost done . That's when I start to lose my drive to finish .  :?

I got soo angry at not being able to find my mistakes in making the rear four-bar setup on my Model A work that I cut EVERY piece of it off.....
I cleaned all the tack welds off the frame & parts, put it all in a box & started over ...
After looking over the whole thing, scratching my head again & again, (after a manicure of course to avoid bloodshed ), I about wore out a tape measure to determine the problem ....
It seems that when my frame was manufactured, the body mount & running board mounts that were installed by the "High Quality--High Tech" frame builder , were found to be 1/8" to 1/4" off....In DIFFERENT directions  :!:   ....
Keep in mind that I have been using these mount locations, ( for two @%&*^&&***^%^%$# YEARS),as gospel due to the reputation of the builder...  :(

I located an accurate front axle centerline , fixtured it & now EVERYTHING is being measured & cross checked to that fixture ....  :?

STRANGE..The parts now fit as they should, measurements are coming out correct, angles are working as they should & we are off to the races  :!:
Progress is being made  8)  8)

Bob and C.K., it's good to see you don't need me so I can go back to making my own mistakes. :) Bob, you have just described why I do my own work. It's never perfect but I only have one idiot to be mad at. He isn't paid much so I haven't fired him, yet. LOL

Bob , when I look at the kits available for just about anything I usually see something I would rather do differently or just better . I prefer to do it myself rather than just making something fit .metal is cheap and my time is free , kit parts are not ! I took engineering for a year at university , liked the design aspect , just wanted more getting dirty with hands on than an engineer would see . Machining has served me well . I like the technical aspects of designing and building , after that is done I really slow down on a build . KB I am in awe at how quickly you get er done when building a ride . You have finished 2 trucks in less time than I have spent whittling away at my T . I also like the green deuce truck . My next project will attempt to clean out my garage of all the drag race goodies I have accumulated .

Ow! Where'd my hammer and dolly go :?:  :?:  :?:

KB you said a mouthful there. Can't technically do anything wrong on your own junk. This thread was a thrill a minute. :)

I'm flinging my pick hammer at Bob to see if he will hold up a fender to defrend himself.

Looks to me like the next episode is coming on now, hold it down to a dull roar
