This is not a rant about whether cars should be trailered or not but a rant on what the trailer owners do with them once they get to the event. Specifically at the Nat's in Louisville last weekend the NSRA provides trailer parking in the Papa John's parking lot for $25.00 for the entire weekend. Why then why do these trailer owners insist on parking their trailers in the hotel lot taking up three or more spaces for the trailer and another two or three for the tow vehicle? If they can afford a rig like that then they can surely afford the $25.00 for the parking. The hotel I stayed at has a small lot and is right across Central Ave. from the Papa John's stadium and the trailers/tow vehicles that were taking up maybe 20 valuable parking spots total could easily been across the street freeing up the much needed spaces for rodders that drove their cars. I didn't see it at my hotel but I know some people have the need put their trailer queen into its little aluminum cocoon each night (I have to admit that can be humorous to watch sometimes) but you can do that each night if the trailer is in the Papa John's lot. A trailered car is not any more precious than the rodder that drove his or her car hundreds of miles whether it be a rat rod or high-end Deuce. If some of these people are the kind that find their "power parking" spot on Wednesday and leave the car there until Sunday then don't leave your trailer in the hotel lot. It boils down to a lack of consideration for others. Several people complained to the hotel management and management responded they will be prohibiting trailer parking in their lot next year. I hope so.

Bob, not upset just disappointed in the lack of consideration some people have for others.  But luckily the people that think they are entitled or "think their s*** don't stink" is the minority in our hobby. Yes had a great time.  Hampshire is up in the air but leaning towards going. 8)

On the same note, we had to deal w/an a#*hole who was trying to block off parking for 40 of his "friends" for the entire weekend. Sat evening half of the spots were still empty!!

Those folks... sadly ,  are every where.  Way more important in their mind, than others.

Car shows, swap meets, they are there.

Years ago, had the police get involved at a swap meet where a jack--s would not move his trailer and some swap meet parts.  He got in the face of the staff of the swap meet. He loaded and left after the police gal told him to obey the staff .  LOL

Our son is a "long haul" Trucker, and one of his big gripes is "Non-trucks" using Truck parking at rest stops and truck stops where there are places away from the truck areas for them to use; most rest stops have RV parking in a separate area with cars, away from the big truck area.  It upsets him to no end when he pulls into a rest area or a fuel island with his full set, one spot apparently open, and he starts to pull into it only to find a car or pickup with a trailer in it pulled far enough forward that he has his tractor all the way in before he can stop.

Grumble, grumble!!!
